Discount Teaching Talking Owl
It is easy to pull the cord, and the voices are friendly. The kids all like the moving mouth. I can recommend this as an entertaining toy, and it's also very durable.

Best Pixter Learning Fun ABC 1+2+3 Software Cartridge Black & White Deals
This cartridge has several games but our daughter's (6 yrs) favorite is the matching letters and numbers game. You "turn over" two spaces and try to remember where the match is and you are timed. It is so much fun that we parents even like to play it and see how fast we can do it. We highly recommend this cartridge.I got this as a gift for my 8yo daughter to help her with her handwriting based on its description. Unfortunately she hasn't been using it as she says it doesn't recognize when she's trying to write on it per the screen. I haven't tried it yet, but as my 3yo loves playing with big sister's Pixter I'm going to have him try it soon.

Volcano Science Kit Reviews
I'm a middle school teacher and bought this with several different kits to review. This is a pre-made model with tubing and baking soda & vinegar. The boys in my class liked it when they realized if they pressed the syringe quickly it could shoot vinegar to the ceiling. It can be reused with own vinegar & baking soda, so I will use it again next year as demonstration.

Schoenhut C1010 - 37 Key Melodica (Black) Reviews
I bought this melodica here on Amazon, through Target. No fault of either that this melodica stinks! Low quality keys, sound, was out of tune and CANNOT BE TUNED(according to my melodica/accordion repairman)Thank God amazon has a great return policy, so I got my money back and ordered the Hohner ST32, it is a WAY HIGHER QUALITY melodica in several ways: louder, higher quality mouthpiece and extension hose with stronger plastic, bigger keys and better quality nice rounded keys, great tone, it was only slightly off key which is no big deal-compared to the Schoenhut which was so out of tune with itself it sounded like a nightmare!
Buy a Hohner if you are a serious musician and want good quality for 4.99 more, the difference is massive!
I own a 99.00 hohner melodica and this ST32 is still comparable! The Schoenhut is a toy, this Hohner st32 is a serious instrument, and you CANNOT beat the price!
Most melodica players purchase either the more popular 37/36-key or the less popular 32-key melodicas. All melodicas are made out of plastic
The key range is from F2 to F5 (Middle C = C3). This is a three octave range and the Schoenhut Melodica is probably one of the largest sized Melodica made. It is 20" x 5" x 3" in size, the same as the Hohner ST-32 melodica.
It is sold as a toy and this keeps the price down but the Schoenhut Melodica is a real musical instrument. It is made in China for the Schoenhut company but the quality of this melodica is high. The Schoenhut Melodica is suppose to be one of the better melodica's mamufactured. Hohner melodicas are also nice sounding, great quality melodicas but they cost more and the Schoenhut Melodica is the best quality best melodica that you can buy for the money.
The keyboard itself is well made, the keys have a nice feel and it is easy to tell when they are engaged. The only issue with the keyboard is that the white keys for the first octave make a slight scraping noise when depressed, it can't be heard while casually playing, but it could be a problem with close miking (though it may go away with use). As others have mentioned the keys are not perfectly level with each other, but this is a purely cosmetic issue and does not affect the feel.
The melodica sounds very good for its price, but don't expect it to sound like a $150+ Hohner. There are no obvious pitch issues, though I have not checked with a tuner. The top F key takes significantly more air to sound than the E below it, but it is usable if you compensate for it.
The build quality is excellent. It is made from a nice durable plastic and has a very nice heft to it. The only issue I can foresee is that the nylon hand strap on the bottom could be pulled out of place if handled too roughly, but it should be easy to get back into position.
Overall I am very happy with this melodica. Its quality surpasses its price tag and I believe that I will be using it for a long time. This instrument is well suited for education, messing around, and performance.
The sound and key action on the lower half of my Schoenhut are quite good. Beyond that the tone gets increasingly thinner and edgier, and key action is uneven. There are a couple of keys for which you have to blow harder to get a clear and even sound, which disrupts what you're trying to do with the rest of the keyboard. I'm enjoying my Schoenhut, but I'll gift it to the lawn boy before I head home.
Google around at the moment and you might find the Schoenhut for $27, a truly remarkable bargain. But it's a very good value at $42.

My husband is a pianist and finds this melodica instrument a useful alternative to practicing tunes or ear training when he's waiting in the car.Honest reviews on Schoenhut C1010 - 37 Key Melodica (Black)
I bought this melodica after reading reviews for it and the Hohner 32-key Student melodica. I chose this one because it was supposed to have fewer durability issues and it has a larger range. The melodica comes with a very nice semi-rigid case (much better than padded for gigging use) and both the 'straw' and mouthpiece are well made, though I doubt I will often use the mouthpiece because of the melodica's size. I have had the Schoenhut for two months now so I'd have a little keyboard to work with during the winter in Mexico. Two conclusions I've come to at this point: (1) The melodica is a terrific little instrument, especially for someone with keyboard experience. I'm taking it more seriously than I expected. (2) I'm ready to move up! After some research, I ordered the Suzuki Pro-37v2; I also considered the Hammond (Suzuki) 44 and the wooden Mylodica. These instruments cost about ten times what the Schoenhut does, but I expect that any one of them (and maybe some cheaper alternatives as well) can fulfill the promise that the Schoenhut demonstrates but cannot fulfill. The Pro-37v2 and the Mylodica are praised for their warm and even tones. The sound and key action on the lower half of my Schoenhut are quite good. Beyond that the tone gets increasingly thinner and edgier, and key action is uneven. Discount Toydozer Toy Clean Up Set (Blue)
My son loves using it himself to put away his toys. Sturdy enough as expected. Fai price, nice colors... Overall a good buy.

If your children play with lots of small toys (cars, lego polly pockets) these are great for picking up and putting away. Better than a dust pan and far more fun. Sturday and easy for little hands to hold without tipping. I felt it was worth the money.Best Deals for Toydozer Toy Clean Up Set (Blue)
I first saw this on Anderson Live. I ordered it, and as soon as it arrived at my home, my son started cleaning up his room without a fuss. It was worth it to me!Honest reviews on Toydozer Toy Clean Up Set (Blue)
Saw this product in my Parent's magazine and thought it would be perfect for my boys. We have tons of Lego, trains and cars laying around our floors at night, which makes clean up a nightly fight. Another reviewer indicated that it was just a dustpan and to save your money. But I've tried the dustpan route without much success. The Toydozer is larger, sturdier and easier for my boys to use. As well it has an extra piece to help get the toys into the scoop. I like that it holds more toys in one pass, making clean up faster and far more efficient. The customer service I received was fantastic. I had a problem with the shipping (being held up at the border and Canada Post being notoriously slow with parcels) and emailed the company. I expected a stock answer, but instead received a personal email from the owner. My friends and family are so impressed with them, that this has become the "gift to buy" for all my son's friends birthdays. My mom even bought one for her house. I also love that it is made in the USA rather than overseas and that when you purchase one, it is supporting a family business rather than lining the pockets of another rich corporation like Walmart. Can't recommend it enough.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Toydozer Toy Clean Up Set (Blue)
I bought one for each of my children, age 5 and age 9. Now when I say, "Go clean up your room, and use your toy dozer!" they literally say, "OK" and go grab their dozers. Having their own special tool helps make clean up easier for them and really makes it more fun. The process of cleaning up is now shorter and less overwhelming for them. My daughter (5) uses it for all her little playmobil pieces, barbie accessories, little plastic animals, polly pockets etc. She seems to love collecting tiny little things and the toy dozer gets them all in a few scoops. My son uses it to clean up his marathon lego/coby building sessions. The scoop attaches to the pan for easy storage so it doesn't get lost and the colors are cool. Very well constructed.Saturday, August 16, 2014

This is a beautifully conceived model motor. It is buildt of substaial materail ,is easy to put together and it runs !
One is awakened to a number of neat add-ons that he could easily add and make this a teaching tool for kids up to high school age but would also fascinate a grandchild;
not that the product was necessarily expensive, but for the price I expected better materials.
overall it works and I'm content with purchase.. but not overly impressed.

PLAN Toy Pull Along Snake Reviews
Great toy from Plan Toys, but unlike the dancing alligator, the design of the snake causes the string to get caught in the wheels. It gets a minute or two of play time, but then I have to pull the string out and by then my son has already moved on. Stick with the Dancing Alligator over the snake.

We received this as a gift. I have twin boys and they love love love this toy. They play with it probably a dozen times a week still. It is really durable, since it has survived 18 months of being banged around by two boys! Highly recommend!!!Best Deals for PLAN Toy Pull Along Snake
Every child who has just learned to walk should have this pull-along! It's durable, made of wood and not cheap plastic. Bought as gift to my god son who just learned to walk. He's been pulling it around everywhere and loves it! As I have seen with my niece with the same toy, it will last for years to come as a great "batteries NOT needed" toy.Honest reviews on PLAN Toy Pull Along Snake
I purchased this toy for my young daughter a few years ago when she was just learning to walk. She has received alot of enjoyment out of it. It is still in service with two daughters. I like to get her simple, more traditional type toys and this certainly fit the bill. It is well made, colorful, and pleasantly animated. The wheels are skewed so the snake undulates as it is pulled. No batteries, no electricity, just fun and imagination.Monday, July 21, 2014

I purchased this for my 1st grade classroom because I pretty much spent last year wishing for one. I have this on my calendar to keep track of days and teach place value. This is brightly colored (and matches the colors of my room, conveniently and nicely enough) and the letters and numbers are easy-to-read. My favorite feature is the storage pouch--very handy, no straws and numbers lost.

I will be using this place value chart in my homeschool preschool this fall. I let my preschooler try it out today and he enjoyed counting out the correct number of rods and placing them in the pocket of the corresponding number. A great place value tool, and I like that it can be hung on the way instead of taking up floor/storage space like so many of our other educational activities.Best Deals for Learning Resources Place Value and Counting Pocket Chart
This item is just as advertised and is a great teaching resource for teaching students about place value. I use it every morning with the students and count down to major school events or the end of the year!Honest reviews on Learning Resources Place Value and Counting Pocket Chart
This pocket chart comes with the top flaps to display the place value numerals and hundreds/tens/ones columns. The pouches are ample enough for the blue coffee stir stick like manipulatives that were included. The bottom flap has a velcro closure to store the spare numbers in. The printed materials are on thicker glossy paper and are perforated but would be sturdier if laminated. There is no place to store the blue sticks that are not being used and the user will need to find alternative storage. Overall this product is a useful teaching tool but could be improved by making the paper materials stronger and providing an additional or larger storage area for the sticks.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Learning Resources Place Value and Counting Pocket Chart
This is a very good product. The material that it is made out of is vinyl and plastic, and seems to be well sewn to last. The numbers are just printed on card stock. And the straws are just like those little straws you use to stir your coffee with. This is a product that someone can easily create at home if you wanted to. But i wanted to purchase this for homeschooling purposes...whenever i can buy real teaching materials without having to make my own stuff, i like to.Friday, July 18, 2014

This game is great and deserves five stars IF you have the L-Max system and can connect it to the TV. Thats when you can play the more interactive story games. If you are playing on a leapster or leapster2 you can only play the mini games and its not as fun. I was so disappointed when I discovered that because we only have the leapsters. I had played a friend's leapster version of this game and loved it so I looked for one for my kids. I didn't realize that the L-Max version was different. My three year old son is pretty happy with it and doesn't know the difference, so I will keep it, but I am disappointed because I know the potential that this game has but can't access it! :(This is a wondefully fun and educational toy. My niece loves Dora The Explorer and she really loves this game too.

I have the old model of this toy, Plan Toys Cone Sorting and my 10 month old loves it so much, we decided to buy this new version for her cousin's first birthday. I decided to open it up to compare this new one and the old one. Here are some of the key differences:
This new model is recommended for 18+ months (versus 2+ years with the old model).
This new model has ridges on all of the outer rings, which makes for more secure stacking and more stacking possibilities (See photo).
This new model has a rounded top which allows for upside down stacking and perhaps creates less of a choking hazard.
This new model has a green base with ridges on top and bottom, which creates more stacking possibilities. The green color is also less likely to get stained. My natural base on the old model has gotten dirty and stained after only a of couple months.
This new model is made from sawdust and wood chips instead of organic rubberwood which results in a grainy look (versus the smooth look of the old model). Personally, I think the old model is more aesthetically pleasing.
This new model uses organic paint (the paint on the old model is still water-based and non-toxic, but not organic).
Overall, this new model appears even better than the old one, and I would definitely recommend it!
Also, here is my original review of the old model:
My 9 month old loves taking apart this toy. Every time we put it back together, she just has to demolish it. This toy also encouraged her to start crawling. She would throw one of the inner cylinders, and then crawl after it to fetch it. Like other reviewers have mentioned, the cylinders will end up rolling everywhere... under the couch, the t.v., etc., so it's kind of annoying to keep digging them out, but scattering the pieces and watching them roll is half the fun for the baby. If you plan on giving this to an infant, just be sure to watch them closely or take away the light green piece... it seemed a little dangerous when I saw my baby chewing on the end of it.My son is now 13 months old and began showing an interest in stacking around 11-12 months. Our first stacking toy frustrated him because it required him to stack in a certain order. This plan toy is unique in that there are multiple ways to stack the parts. There's an inner stacking cylinder unit that a child can place within an outer larger unit or he/she can stack the items separately (see picture). You can stack with the pieces turned upside down or right side up. The pieces are made of good, sturdy material and easy to find when tossed around a room. The packaging provides pictures of how you can stack the items if you're stuck on one stacking method. I just love watching my son spending minutes stacking, tearing down, and restacking in different ways. To comparewe also have the Bright Starts Stack and Teeth, and it doesn't captivate my son's attention as well because you have to stack the items around a plastic pole all the time. We also have Melissa & Doug's Shape Sequence Sorting Set and it's a little too complicated for him right now. He doesn't like having to be specific about where he's placing the pieces. This plan toy is so much better because of the freedom it gives him in thinking up different ways to stack. This is a must have if your infant likes stacking!!!! I just wish this company came up with more products!
