I received my item on time with no delays. The shape sorter is really colorful and my granddaughter loves to shake it up! The only thing that surprised me was that the plastic was very thin compared to the Tupperware brand. I expected a thicker plastic, but it does seem durable enough for a one year old.

I like the traditional ball sorters like I used to have so I ordered this one. It functions the way it's supposed to, I just don't like how hard it was to open at first but that seems to be getting easier with use.

my daughter loves this, it was perfect to set her apart on her first day of school. be warned it is a bit small, i can only really fit her nap time blanket(which is medium size) and her school folder in it. but how much room does a 4 yr old school kid really need. she can roll it and even put it on her back comfortably.

This mug truly has the look and feel of laboratory glassware. I really like it, in that respect.

Note that it's not a very good insulator, which has implications on both the temperature stability of the mug's contents and the potential for heat transfer to/from skin that may come into contact with the outside. Since I use it only for hot liquids and prefer to drink them at more lukewarm temperatures, I consider its heat conductivity a feature.

My only real complaint is that it's just a bit too small. The capacity is barely sufficient for me to fill it from the single-serve coffee maker in my office and carry it back to my desk without spills. And while the pour spout is a nice feature, I end up using it far more often as a "spill spout". :-[

Finally, there's the handle. As with the body of the mug, it's on the small side. It's a squeeze for me to fit 3 fairly large fingers in there, and then they're too close to the glass if the mug contains very hot liquid. I've found a way to hold it with two fingers my index finger hooked through the handle with my middle finger also curled but on the outside of the handle. This gives me stability and control, while minimizing the chance of accidentally touching the mug's body. I find this makes it relatively easy to avoid spills on the way back to my desk, so long as I keep an eye on it.

Prior to this, I had a much larger beaker mug of a different brand. It had the opposite problem of being too large. Its markings went to 350 mL, but probably held about 450 mL when filled to the brim. Its size presented a few logistical problems (coffee maker incompatibility among them). Even so, I continued to use it until I inadvertently discovered that, strong as it may be, borosilicate is no match for concrete (for v ~= 2.5 m/s). Rather than replace it with same, I opted to find a more practical size. I think I can now conclude that my ideal size would be about half way in between the two.

Cheap Early Lingo Alphabet at School DVD (Part 4 German)

These DVDs are consistently good and our grand-daughter enjoys them. This one teaches words we had been working on with her independently of the video. When she heard those words there was some instant recognition and she stopped playing and watched the video. This video has more animation than some and that works very well with small children. I wish there were children's books with Jo Jo and Lulu to go along with the videos.

This game is great! Both my 2 (almost 3 year old) and my 5 1/2 year old sons LOVE this game and they can both do it. They often feud over this one and we have had to resort to major turn taking over this game. It is great as it teaches lots of cool stuff, plus they can really enjoy just being goofy and creative making all sorts of different creatures! This game is #1 at our house!

This game was good. I had bought it for my at the time 2 1/2 year old daughter. She is very bright and catches on to things quickly. This game amazed me what it taught her. I have personally played it and find it kind of fun. I am not quite sure the object of the game. I think it is to decorate the monster's house how you like it. The thing that is challenging is that you have to put shapes together in a certain way to make each and every thing. Like for instance the house. There are triangles, squares, hectagon, etc that go together into the shape of a big triangle. After putting the house together you get to design the outside, like color it or put patterns on it. Then you go inside and create the rooms by putting shapes together again. While you are making the items for inside the house it says the shape of each block. It gets more challenging as you increase the level for the child. You eventually have to start turning and flipping pieces with more sides to them to make it fit. There are timed games etc. Overall this game definitely does offer something for your children that the other games do not for the age group.

It's nothing special my 5 y.o played it for a day or so and then put it aside for good. The game may be of certain interest for younger kids, perhaps, 4 y.o. Graphics are pretty much standard and of a good quality.

Barn Owl Pellet: Each: X-Large Review

I bought the owl pellets for my two boys. I remembered dissecting owl pellets when I was their age in school and wanted to share the experience with them.

They received these as a Christmas present and after the amusement of their other toys wore off, they were excited to do these. I helped my youngest son open up his aluminum foil covered pellet and was happy to see it was just as I remembered what they looked like. Gray, fuzzy and smell free.

Then I helped my oldest son open his, his first reaction was that it smelled really bad, and when we removed the foil we had two large rat skulls staring up at us. These skulls had caked on fur, that looked like it was shat on by an owl. And the smell reminded me of my dog's favorite perfume, "Dead Squirrel Le Toilette". My assumption was that it escaped sterilization, but encouraged my son to try to remove the fur to get some pretty cool skulls to check out. That worked out, until a maggot crawled out of the skull. After killing the maggot, my oldest son took off, and lost complete interest. I took the skulls and tried to boil the fur off, but found that the skulls still had muscle matter on them and my house was beginning to smell like death. Everything ended up in the trash, including the pan.

In summary, they are fun to dissect and my youngest had a great time identifying the bones with the bone chart enclosed. You do have to provide your own tools. We used tweezers, scalpel and small pick. But, if it smells really bad, you're better off leaving it alone, unless you like bugs, half decayed muscle tissue holding the skulls/bones together.But, I would take the risk again if my children wanted to do these again.

I'm sorry, but even with the educational value of this "toy," it is just unnecessarily expensive. Cause walking into an owl cage, or out into the forest to find an owl pellet is so hard. Why on Earth does anybody think I'm about to blow five or six bucks just for shipping and handling (on a three dollar item)? Fat chance. Lower the shipping cost and maybe I'll consider buying it, and tell others to buy it too. But for now, I'll stick to walking through the forest.

First of all, go ahead and buy both packs of cards, you won't be disappointed. I've reviewed the cards in general on the Pack 1 site (5 stars!), but wanted to say that these cards are just as impressive as the first set. Even if you speak no French at all, you can just jump in and start learning from the moment you open the cards. I think it's brilliant how the game was designed. The word on each card is not translated on that card you get points not only for making sentences, but also for translating the sentences. However, the translation of the word is somewhere at the bottom of another card in the deck. As you play, you will get better and better at knowing what each word means. I've had some French classes in high school and college and been to France twice. My daughter knows no French. However, we are able to play the game together very well. There are plenty of words I don't know, and she's quite fast at picking up the vocabulary. A great game for the whole family!

My husband and I purchased Decks 3 & 4 (actually, both packs including Decks 1 & 2) without knowing if we would enjoy this game. Not a very expensive risk but still a risk because we did not see it in our local stores or knew of any friends who owned them so that we could try the game out first.

We had a blast! It was a little challenging at first since we are very new to french but now we realize how much we have learned when days later we are remembering the words from playing the game. They stick in your brain! I should add that the words on the cards are useful and are needed for everyday language which is very important to us.

I highly recommend this game to anyone new to the language and needing a fun and interesting way to learn.

Purchased as a 6th birthday gift. It was received well. Eeboo always makes great quality products with beautiful illustrations. It's small, like a diary should be, with a hardcover and good binding. Attatched is a good quality lock with 2 keys. Adorable.

Out of the box, this toy was a big hit. It was so neat that touching other people made music (or percussive sounds, or animal noises) and my son loved it. He kept wanting to poke my nose, touch my arms, touch my legs. He experimented with tapping fast and slow, and cycled through all the different sounds. Touched me AND my husband at once, then touched us in succession.

But then he was done with it.

And he hasn't been interested in the toy since.

The problem is that it has lost its novelty and really, that's all this toy has going for it. There's no imagination involved, no creative process going on. It's not an open-ended toy at all.

So now, it just sits on his book shelf. I've tried to entice him to play with it but no luck so far.

Oh well.

Perfect toy for different ages to interact! My twenty year olds play with their younger cousins with this for hours and they all had a blast. The eighteen month old likes to play with the sounds all on his own too. Great toy!

You can really play this game by yourself, but of course it's almost more fun with others.

If you have one hand on a contact point and touch another contact point with the other hand then it will still make the sound. If playing with others you have to be sure to touch their skin in order for it to work.

When the setting is on a musical song it will play each note when you touch someone, but when it gets to a certain point it will stop and you have you set it up again. If playing it on the instrument sound setting or the animal sound setting, then it will stay on unless it has not been played with for a couple minutes and then it will turn off on its own.

There is no power switch that I am aware of it turns off on it's own after a few minutes if not in use.

My daughter (9) wanted this Word game toy very much last year, she loves to read and likes word games. We bought it for her when she was in second grade and it lost its appeal quickly because it wasn't challenging enough for her. All in all I think this is a great educational toy for smart Kindergarteners and especially first graders who love to read and play with/learn about words.

This "toy" was actually part of a much larger science project. The project dealt with how the human eye sees color as performed by a computer. The human eye was the baseline and part of the exhibit displayed how the human eye works. This toy, which should actually be called a model, did the job perfectly at a reasonable price.
