it came packaged great with a giant red sticker on it do not bend.but the post office bent it completely in half to put it in my mail box instead of putting behind my storm door like fed x . so its broken.but I still love it because in jan 2013 I tried to buy this at American scientific in west Chicago Illinois who said they aren't Edmund sci anymore.i will try another order when I have time to watch for the post man I really like this item my old one is from 1980. I bought these for my 5 year old son. He's not allowed to have gum or mints in school so I thought these may help him focus better by having them to chew on. He said they are too hard to chew, and doesn't care for them. I actually tried one, and it is pretty hard, unlike other sensory chew sticks that are available.

I work with children with austism and had a student who pulverized every writing tool we found because of his need to chew and bite down hard. I tried the tubes but would end up with a big drooly mess on the pencil. These chewable shapes are tough enough to handle his bite and he isn't a big drippy mess. We have been able to keep the same pencil since putting on the new toppers.

This is a great product! Gives my child an outlet on "bad" days, without looking like therapy.

The only caveat explain to your child that this isn't an eraser it looks exactly like one. You don't really want your child then putting in their mouth.

Without pencil toppers, my son totally chews up his pencils, the erasers, metal bits,everything. I was concerned that he was going to chip a tooth, or cut his gums. Now I place the pencil toppers on the pencils, and it gives him something safe to chew.

My 6 year old daughter will chew off the eraser, metal band, and start chewing through the wood of a pencil if she doesn't have anything better to chew on. We've had these for a few weeks and they've been very helpful. (She also uses another handheld chew stick.) She has managed to chew off a few tiny bits from the star so I don't expect these to last forever. Still, these are very handy to have available and don't look "babyish" in with a 1st grader's school supplies.

My 3 year old loves this book, but I think that's mostly because he like Mater.

This book has some VERY bad content and lesson. We were very disappointed at some of the concepts that are in this book that are presented without significant resolution including peer pressure, taunting, etc.

There are much better Leapfrog books to buy than this one.

This is a wonderful Tag book for the Cars lover. My 4-year-old received the Tag system and this book for his birthday in July. He absolutely loves it!

He's read it so much that as soon as he turns the page, he shouts out "Frank's coming!" or makes the sound effects of the characters. He tells me what's happening before even putting the pen to the book now. And I can see improvement by hooking the pen up to my computer it tells you which questions he answered correctly and how long he's read the book.

My son loves everything Cars, so this was a great fit.

I would suggest having a talk with your child about how to treat books before leaving him/her alone to play. We did have one casualty a ripped page. But now I've talked to my son about how to care for books and I'm hoping the rest of the pages stay in tact.

I would definitely recommend this book if you have the Tag Reader system.

He said the reason why he likes this book is because Mater and Lightening McQueen did tractor tipping and made all the tractors tipped over. My son thinks it is funny. This storyline encouraged children to be kind of naughty and that they can get away with it. I didn't really liked the story but my son loves the story. The games in the book were fun and educational which was the only positive thing about this book.

My 4 year old son loves the movie "Cars" and loves this book as well. He started using his Tag Reader almost as soon as he unwrapped it at Christmas. He has 4 books so far, but this is his favorite. Great for boys or girls.

Great for kids who need incentive in the form of their favorite characters in order to read.

The Tag function is a helpful teaching tool. Anything geared at this age group has to be durable, though.

Cheap FLY Through™ Spanish Pocket Translator

Fly Through Spanish is some of the best software for the Fly pen available. You can write a word in English and hear the Spanish translation, or write a Spanish word and hear the English translation. The translator will also spell out translations for you (my only complaint is that the translations are spelled a bit too quickly, especially if you're trying to write them down). The cartridge even comes with some games to help you learn Spanish words. Fly Through Spanish also comes with a booklet that has verb conjugation charts and ideas for games you can play. I was very impressed with the verb charts. They actually includes all the tenses and a chart of irregular verbs. Fly Through Spanish is a great tool for learning and practicing Spanish words. Please keep in mind that this software will not teach you Spanish but it is a wondeful and downright fun addition to a class or self-study program.

I hope that Leapfrog releases more languages, especially French.

The fact that almost all the reviews are children should tell parents one thing when considering this for their child...This is FUN and it is what YOUR children want. Imagine a great "toy" that is also an "educational tool". Parents and children are BOTH happy with this purchase. My child will be starting Spanish in the fall.....this will be a MUST in our household.

Actually I want a Fly too!!!! :-)

Best Deals for FLY Through™ Spanish Pocket Translator

I give this product a medium to low rating bcuz Spanish just like any other language has many different dialecs and some words I tried translating into Spanish to English weren't recognized. For example .. Por Favor or Comida were unrecognizable. Also every time I write a capital I it keeps being recognized as a V no matter how matter times I write it. Is there something wrong with my Fly Pen ? Either way the translations aren't quite accurate bcuz my friend who speaks fluent spanish says that some of the translations are old spanish translations that people don't even use anymore. Like Amora is Love or Amor. Some still use it but most hispanics nowadays use AMO and words like I couldn't be translated. It's better just to buy a English-Spanish pocket translator.

Bread, chile, rice, soup, even brownies cooked by the sun? Easy, affordable and the food is delicious. I am impressed with how easy this solar cooker is to use. We used to cook with a bulky box cooker but I have enjoyed how much more versatile the Solar Zenith is. It also cooks the food much faster. Dinner in the box cooker used to take all day to be ready to eat. I also like the idea of being able to can and make any water clean and pure to drink by using this cooker. I am planning on giving all my children at least one for their homes to use in emergencies. My campers will enjoy it on the trail too. It is so easy, maybe they will use it everyday just to save on energy costs. I highly recommend the Solar Zenith not only for emergency cooking and peace of mind, but for just plain fun cooking with the sun.

This cooker works but does not cook as fast as I think it should, parabolic cookers should cook faster, like chicken fryer fast. It should have better instructions with it, was not sure which way to face the cone in relation to the sun. I cooked green beans and potatoes, they were very tender.

There's enough content to keep him interested and coming back to it. I like the theme of a village street. We live in a small town so he can relate. The challenge is to finish writing the letters and numbers at each stop library, fire hall, etc. He moves forward and opens up entrance into more buildings in the village by completing tasks. He's learning focus, hand/eye coordination, and task completion in one easy, fun app.

On the down side, the app is large, we had to delete stuff to make room for it. This is for iPad only. I wish it was cross platform. Would love to get this for Kindle Fire.

Mr. Pencil is easy for him to grip and requires no batteries!!!! Using the free app on my Iphone was easy after using the 'eraser' to conform we owned a Mr. Pencil. He is laughing and forming letters as I write this, the affirmations from the software boosting his interest and confidence. Great product!

We bought two for our 5 year old twins, and they stink. We downloaded the app from iTunes onto both of our iPads, and tried to use the pencils. Tried. It doesn't sense the pencil strokes half the time, we can't unlock the other "levels" or whatever they are, so kids have completely run out of possible play in less than an hour with the product. We are so bummed, my son who is not a proficient writer was really excited to use this and was carefully tracing lines to make letters it just wouldn't work (it wouldn't work for me, either).

You download the free app and it both teaches and encourages writing skills, congratulating and unlocking levels for successes and offering gentle correction for missteps. The big cartoon pencil also helps make it fun. It's probably the best letter writing app we've tried on the iPad, and we've used many!

However, maybe she is just too young. She can't hold the pencil stylus in place as is required to make each letter because you can only make it go in a particular direction. We still use it, but at 3, she may be some time away from using it properly.

This telescope is a great value for the money. It has some serious weight to it nice brass and glass telescope. The optics are not flawless (I've been involved with telescopes for many years as an amateur astronomer) it can be a little tricky getting the right spot to look through (don't wear glasses) but it is kind of reminiscent of how an old telescope might be. To focus you must slide the last piece in and out it works pretty easily. It feels well built. It expands and collapses smoothly without feeling flimsy at all, it is nice and tightly fitted. The box it comes in is quite nice as well. While this is not intended for serious use, it can be quite a fun telescope to play around with. Hard to believe they are able to sell it for this price, actually!

My title is "Cute not scary" because I know some children are startled easily by Jack-in-the-box type toys. This is mostly because of the loud noise they make when they POP up out of the box. My husband STILL winces when turning the crank on a jack-in-the-box due to past trauma (lol).

I was rather pleasantly surprised when we received ours to find that the noise made when the caterpillar pops up isn't loud at all. It's the quietest jack-in-the-box toy I've ever seen really. So it's good for small kids. I don't think it would frighten them like other loud ones might.

It plays the traditional song all of these play. Of course it is extremely cute too. It matches our baby's nursery theme which is why I purchased it.

Just a word of advice watch the price on this one. I noticed it tends to fluctuate between $15 all the way up to $24.99.

We love this toy. It is well made and very reminiscent of the caterpillar in the book (that was the main reason we got it... if it hadn't looked this great we'd have passed it by). almost all pull toys these days have strings that are way too short (laibility issues... sigh). we have several pull toys with too short strings. we just tie a longer string on and it works fine.

I bought this as an accompaniment to the classic book. I was really really hoping the body of the caterpillar would inch around or do something interesting with a bit of noise when it is dragged around. I didn't see any info pertaining to that, but I went ahead and took a small rist buying it. I found out that the only parts that move are the wheels. The green segmented body can be twisted around, but if you invert the position, then it prevents the caterpillar from moving at all because the middle of the body will be lower than the wheels. I can see its a decently made toy, with pretty good quality. I liked the fuzzy antena, but overall, I would not buy this again!

On the product website it says "Product Dimensions: 8 x 2 x 10 inches ; 1 pounds". This is a complete lie, the toys screen is about 1 inch across and the whole toy is about 2 inches big. Im sure they came to this number by measuring the packaging which is about 8 x 2 x 10 inches but they are trying to trick people in to thinking they are getting a big toy when it probably would fit on a key chain.

This is an awesome addition to the gift of the kidizoom camera that we bought our daughter. We can download the pictures she takes with her camera to the kidilook and then she can still see them and show her friends while she can take more pictures with her camera. It has held up to her abuse very well, and has AWESOME picture quality. I would definately recommend it to everyone buying the kidizoom camera. We have had no problems with this photo frame.

The screen is indeed 1 inch by 2 inches. Perfect for viewing photos taken with the Kidizoom. Comes with a wrist lariat. There are days I don't want to deal with the camera that the Kidilook is a good compromise for us. It has a feature for making a story of sorts, that I haven't figured out yet. Thanks Emma for the patch! I looked forever!

V.Flash Controller Review

Purchased this joystick so a second player can participate in the VTECH Flash games. There is nothing wrong with the joystick, it works fine. It is easy to use and we love the versatility of it because it is made to accomodate left and right handed people. Which is why we gave it a 5 star review. HOWEVER, when using this joystick as a second player, it was not as we expected. We were hoping the two players could play simultaneously and interact with each other's characters while playing games. That isn't the case. Only one person plays at a time. So, interest is easily lost when waiting for a player to complete the game. This is no fault of the joystick. However, my kids (ages 6 and 4) won't use this joystick as a second player because either way, they are waiting to take a turn and as I stated eariler, ineterest is lost. So, if you are considering this as a buy for the second player option, it may not be worth your money.

Purchased this product a few years ago so that both of my boys could play on the Vtech at the same time. Silly me didn't realize that only one child can play at a time on the games that we have. It doesn't take long for it to switch sides and is very sturdy in case it drops a lot. Have it here as a backup in case the one that came with the system breaks.
