I bought these for my 5 mos. old daughter and for a 5 to 7 mos. old I think they are kind of big, but once they can easily hold them they are great. My 10 mos. daughter who now has two teeth loves them. I keep one in the stroller, and one in the diaper bag. I think she likes the foot slightly better, but she does play with the hand too.

Okay. I bought this for dd b/c she is an early teether but she couldn't manipulate it very well until now, almost 5 months. The hand is nice but still too thick/big for real little ones. Unfotunately there really isn't much out there for early teethers. This will work.

Yet another great CRANIUM toy. I puchased this toy for a very long car trip. (also purchase the Cranium Talking Picture Studio which was surprisingly dissapointing) This toy entertained our 5 & 7 year old for hours. It really got their creative efforts flowing. It is an electronic version of Mad Libs. It is durable, does not have accessory parts that fall onto the floor, easy to figure out...a WINNER. One note the batteries that come with it went out fast. I'd recommend changing the batteries before taking it on a trip, or bring backup batteries and one of those tinsy winsy screwdrivers.

The Cranium folks score again. My daughter got this as a Christmas present and loves, loves, loves it.

This is a great toy for late toddler and up. Using very easy to understand technology, kids record their own stories, if you are familiar with MAD LIBS it's the same premise but uses a recorder instead of writing. My daughter has as much fun playing with it by herself as she does playing with Mom, Dad, or her brother. This is a wonderful toy to travel with because it is a single hand-held unit, no extra pieces except an optional spinner to select stories.

My kids (ages 5 & 8) have really enjoyed this. It's like an electronic version of Mad Libs. Instead of writing your answers, you get to record your own voice. It took the 5 year-old a few tries to get the hang of doing this, but now she's really enjoying it. My only criticism is that you're limited to the 10 or so set stories.

I just received the toy today. I'm early Christmas shopping and since Christmas isn't for a couple of months I figured i'd try it out to see if it was working otherwise it would be to late to return if i wait til Christmas. When i turned it on the voice was slow and distorted it sounded awful so i changed the batteries. But even with new batteries the voice was still slow and distorted. I read the directions and troubleshoot section and it mentioned to reset the recorder if there were any problems. So i got a paperclip and insert it into the reset button. WA-LA it's all better. The voice is now fun and exciting and it works well.

So for those of you who have had trouble with the voice maybe if you reset the toy it will do the trick. As far as the funness of the toy, I'll have to wait until Christmas to see if my 5 year old enjoys it.

I think he will.

I've been using this for the last year and a half, brooding six rounds of chicks. The good news is that you're going to save a lot of electricity --about $11 per four week period (which is about how long chicks need it) at our energy prices of 12.3 cents/kwh. So, brood six sets of chicks and the ecoglow brooder has paid for itself.

The other good news is that you won't risk burning down your coop. We almost started a fire once when our heat lamp fell in the bedding. Another time, rain splashed onto a different bulb, causing it to explode --if we hadn't noticed that, our chicks would have died without a heat source. This brooder just keeps plugging along.

There are a few slight downsides. First, within a week, your chicks will learn to jump up on top. They'll love sitting there, and the brooder will get coated in manure, which you'll have to carefully clean off without submerging the heating unit.

The brooder has three height settings, but you need to be very careful when taking the legs off to change heights. I have a feeling that six or ten height changes will be enough to make the plastic legs break, so I usually step up the height by setting the legs on bricks instead.

The final downside is that chicks fresh from the incubator won't dry off enough under one of these if your interior temperature is below about 55 degrees Fahrenheit. Most of you probably keep your houses warmer than that, though, and once your chicks are a few days old, the ecoglow is enough for them down into the forties.

Those caveats aside, this is the best product I've found for brooding chicks. I will get another one when mine breaks.

I've raised chicks under 250W and 100W bulbs. I'm so happy I've found this Brinsea EcoGlow! At under 20W there are significant energy (MONEY) savings--even with a CFL on a timer to give the chicks a day/night schedule. Also important to keep in mind is the significant reduction in fire hazards! The brooder heat surface does not get hot enough to ignite pine shavings.

My chicks are still under 3-weeks old, so they aren't fully feathered. My brooder box is in an unheated, uninsulated shed in Montana--so the chicks surely need heat. The chicks seem happy and and growing. During the day the chicks are frequently out from under the brooder, eating, drinking, and exercising. At night they are cuddled up under the brooder (I assume). It's very similar to chicks being raised by a broody hen (sans an old hen teaching the chicks about their world).

Since the original chicks, this brooder has now been used for a second batch of chicks and is now heating two Runner Ducklings.

I use the heat panels for my Cockatiels and other small parrot species I mount them on the outside of my weaning cages or use them in plastic tubs as brooder heaters they use very little energy, are safea great alternative for more expensive parrot brooders. They are super easy to clean too. They don't get too hot you can put your hand on the surface without getting burned it simulates the body temperature that would come from a mother henthere is no light that would disturbe the day/night rythm of the birds and the cable is long enough to reach almost anywhere. I used these in my chicken coop, for sick pet birds, for tiny baby cockatiels in pin feathers and I have even given one to an elderly family friend who needed a reliable and energy efficient foot heater that would not burn down her house if in use 24/7 nor cost her too much in electricity ( not sure if brinsea intended this kind of use ...)

This brooder is perfect for my chicks! Right after they are born, I scoot them under it on the lowest setting and they hang out for about 12-18 hours resting from the energy it took to peck their way out of the egg. Then when they decide to come out, they are fluffy and just cute as can be. I have lost chicks under heat lamps even with the thermometer. I like this so much more. If I want to see how a newborn is doing, I lift it up and peek. That is probably the only downside to this is there is no way to view the chick, but I love this so much I just ordered the 50 sized one. I love the way they can come and go, and they do too. They know where its warm. They go out get their food and water then go back in for a rest. Its funny because I have 1 week olds in there as well as the newborns and they just scoot in to get the warmth and nap also. The room they are in is warm enough for them, but they like to go in and nap or play. You sure can tell which ones are going to be roosters because they are up on top of it in no time lol.

A couple days ago, I was sure I was going to lose a chick. It was so weak and not recovering well. I put it under this thinking when I lifted it to peek it was going to be dead for sure. Nope.. it was exactly right and the little dude is running around healthy and happy now. Very pleased with this item!!!

This is by far the best heater for chicks. I will never use a heat lamp again. It is very safe and will not burn if touched. I can not say enough about this heater. It is adjustable so you can raise as they get older. I have used this for chicks, ducklings and for puppies. The best thing is that they can get away from the heat if they want unlike a heat lamp.

My six-year-old does NOT want to learn time on an analog clock... I have been trying...and trying...and trying all kinds of different ways... I found a mediocre set of time-flash cards where I live (on a US territory far, far away) and posted them on a wall by a clock with labels of the time shown and that has helped for the o'clocks...but the rest are still "tricky" for her...

I broke these babies out after receiving them last week and, at least for a short period, they kept her interested in learning a bit more because of the cute and changing pictures, front and back, on the cards...big and little hands are clearly shown and in different colors... She even showed interest in the money cards >:D ...another nemesis... again, with great ideas/pictures to capture attention...

My 7 yr old autistic son goes through oral phases and currently has been chewing holes in his shirt collars daily. I threw out at least a dozen. He won't wear necklaces or bracelets.

He took right to this chew, as I attach it to his pant belt loops or tie. He is a vigorous chewer, so after a few days the narrowed tip of the plastic tube was about to rip off so I cut it off with scissors. The spring part also broke from the plastic hook, so I slip knot tied it back and fixed that problem. My son is pretty rough so I expected these very things to happen, and it's not a fault of the product, but more the user. However, I did want to include the ways to fix these issues in this review if they do occur to others.

Honestly, I don't know what we did without these. I even bought two extra and put them in a drawer for later.

The first time we forgot to send it in with him, they asked if we could send in a spare, just in case. I purchased this for one my students who has a problem learning his alphabet (spanish student 2nd grade). Just like any other flash cards of the alphabets where they show the upper and lower case letters along with pictures each letter it starts with BUT, it also tests him: which lower case matches with the upper case and which letter comes next. I do recommend this over regular flash cards. Now the Talking Pen is not included. I purchased the regular yellow Talking Pen instead of the dog one because it seemed less bulky. I also wrote a review and the Talking Pen( 3 stars) so, check it out.

bought it for my 4yr old's birthday and she loves it. she's been in a private 3K program this past year and has already been introduced to phonics, also has a subscription to abcmouse.com so she quickly caught on to the cards. it was still a good review for her but one month aftter getting them i already feel like i should buy a more advanced set because of her early exposure. it's a great starting point for her though because she needs to master the entire set of 30 cards and it's boosted her confidence as she gets the 95% of them right.

I ordered a lot more sets. They work well for both of my kids, ages 4 and 5. I had especially wanted this since my son (age 5) hates all things reading and does much better with electronics. He did this by himself and really enjoyed it. It's helped out a lot. I wish the pens said more and explained why their answer is wrong or right, but maybe they'll change some things in the future.

Also, on some of the cards they have to hit the dots in certain areas for it to tell them it is right, even if it is the correct answer.

I like this Bible. I have two children, 2 and 4 years of age. I got this Bible and read through it before even showing it to them. I like that all of the stories were told accurately and with details but not too much that it overwhelms the child. After my initial read through, showed it to my children.

Both immediately wanted to 'hold it' and 'carry it'. They loved the handle and the pictures. We sat down and read the stories. They asked questions and it was fun for all of us. We took it slow and talked about each of the stories but it really was perfect for their level of understanding.

I rate this a 5/5. Young children will enjoy this and it is perfect for them.

My First Handy Bible has thirty three Bible stories in this carry along feature for babies and toddlers. This board book is durable with a hard back cover and a latch to hold it securely shut. Easy to clean up all those messes little ones seem to make.

The stories are told in a simple format that is easy to read. The stories are perfect to hold the attention of any on the go toddler. This Bible has beautiful illustrations that your little ones will love learning about the truths of God's Word.

My thoughts:

This is a perfect Bible for little ones. What child doesn't love to carry around toys and books? The yellow handle is perfect for little hands. I can think of many toddlers who would love carrying around this Bible.

The most important thing is that you are teaching God's word to them. Why not start early; your toddler can tote their own bible to church with them. Simple sentences retell Bible stories from Genesis to Revelation.

I have read this to my children who are much older a few times already. My not toddler son thinks it should be his Bible. Needless to say it will be a gift to one of my little nieces out of state. This would make a perfect baby shower gift for any expecting mother. This is a delightful Bible that will be a blessing to any child up to three years old.

This is a great little book for toddlers who love mimicking Mom and Dad by taking their own "Bible" to Church! It has a nice sturdy little handle on the back for easy carrying and a Child friendly latch to keep it closed. I like that the handle is on the spine so the pages hang down even if the clasp were to break off the Bible would still hang in the right position when carried.

I also love the card board pages which will hold up to little fingers learning to sit and turn pages. Perfect child friendly size to fit their little laps and hands. A great teaching aid.

The one thing that lowered this to a 4 star instead of a 5 in my opinion was that, as it tells each story in two or three lines for the toddlers (which is great)it doesn't give a verse to read to them to go along with it. It is called My First Handy "BIBLE" but doesn't have Bible verses in it. I think this would be a very important addition to the book.

I was excited to receive My First Handy Bible to review. I am always interested in children's Bible books, especially now that my oldest nephew has come to love reading Bible stories.

The story:

This is a Bible story book, sharing "classic" Bible stories, from creation to the birth of Jesus, etc..

The illustrations:

The pictures in this book are very different for a children's book. Not the highest quality, and not the cutest.

How strong is the book?

This is a pretty sturdy little book, and seems like it will hold up quite well.

Who the book is for:

Babies and toddlers, through preschoolers, even.

What I liked:

The padded cover, plastic handle, and overall way that the book is made.

Includes quite a few Bible stories.

I like that each story includes the reference to where it is found in the Bible.

What I didn't like:

There are a few mistakes, such as David taking "well" care of sheep, instead of "good".

One story tells of how people wanted Jesus to be their king, but he only wanted to be their friend I don't see how this is biblically based.

Overall, this book is pretty poorly written.

My conclusion:

I really wanted to like this book, but I found that I didn't.

I give My First Handy Bible 2 out of 5 stars.

My son who is almost 3 received this for Christmas. What a beautiful and rewarding toy. This is something that can be passed down to future generations, very good quality. The sound isn't quite classic piano, but sounds very nice. Almost like chimes. It comes with a removable color coded key guide and a song booklet. The matching bench is great too. My son really loves it and I think it's a great way to introduce him to a musical instrument. I read somewhere that this is the smallest piano ever played at Carnagie Hall. (small trivia tidbit).

While I didn't expect fantastic sound from a toy piano, given the price it should be reasonable to expect better quality. The action of the keys feels very cheap. There is almost no travel and adequate rebound to the key action. You pretty much can't get a sound out without a forceful hit leaving little room for subtlety in dynamics. One of the notes is pretty badly out of tune -so much for the advertised "precision" of the sound rods. Worst of all is the upper octave. Striking any note there sets up a very unpleasant resonant hum which pretty much drowns out the note you are trying to play.

Because of a shipping mix up, we actually got shipped two of these and sent one back. The second one had pretty much the same defects, so these problems are clearly inherent to the quality of the product.

The piano looks nice enough, and we weren't going to send back our daughter's second birthday present at the last minute, so we ended up keeping this. She does enjoy it as a toy, and it will be good enough to introduce her to the basics of a keyboard, but I'm severely disappointed in the quality of this given the price. Clearly whatever quality this brand once had has been squandered in outsourcing its production to China, so by all means "mark well the name," for it now deserves scorn. If my daughter was a little older, I think I would pay half as much for an electronic keyboard.

After reading a couple of the reviews this product received I had some reservation about ordering it. Nevertheless I did purchase this piano and am so glad I did. This Schoenhut 37 Key Traditional/Deluxe Spinet Piano is an excellent product. It is very well constructed and so beautifully crafted that it is hard to think of this as a toy. This piano could easily fit in with the most formally decorated of rooms. Because it uses metal rods, the piano has a unique and pleasant hint of a chime sound. The piano came fully assembled. The only thing we had to put together was the stool and that took a whole 10-minutes. Our 2 1/2 year old daughter shows a great deal of interest in wanting to play the piano. We wanted to get her something that would keep her interested and make it easy to transition to a real piano. The keys on the Schoenhut piano are the same width as full size keys but are shorter to accomadate the size of a child's finger. I'm really glad that we got the 37 key piano because it gives you two full octives and partial octives on the high and low ends on the keyboard. Our daughter loves playing this piano and we have lots of fun playing it together. By the way, the older string version of this model is currently fetching between $1400 & $1600 at auction.

This is a cross between a sling shot and a simple helicopter toy. That doesn't sound like much until you actually play with one of these things! It shoots 75-100 feet into the air (even for a younger kid), then floats down at a slow enough pace that you get to watch it for quite some time. We got one of these in a toy store and gave it to a friend's kid. Watched how it worked, then got one for each of our nephews and nieces...ahem, and then begged them to let me shoot it once in a while. :D Shoot somewhere away from copter-eating trees, for you want to keep ahold of this copter in order to shoot it over and over.

A simple toy that does all that it claims to. My only warning is to purchase multiples (either as individual Arrow Copters or two-packs):

First, like any flying toy, they *can* end up on rooftops, in trees or other inaccessible places, but that's if you exercise NO caution. But with a nice open space, and a little care, there's no reason that even young children can't enjoy these. Still, why risk having the fun end prematurely? (And trust me, these ARE fun!)

Second, once you see how much fun the kids are having, you'll be itching to snap a few into the air yourself, but you'll be hard-pressed to get the kids to share! :)

Third, they're inexpensive enough that purchasing even multiple two-packs won't shatter your wallet. Great to have on hand for stocking-stuffers, surprise gifts, or for when the young (or not so young) person in your life has had a rough day and could use a pick-me-up.

Fourth, though they won't survive true abuse or being driven over by a car, they're pretty sturdy for a lightweight flying toy.

Fifth, they're pretty harmless. Well, okay, if your kid can't be trusted not to shoot these at people, animals or breakables then this may not be the toy for him/her. But this would be a wonderful toy for any kid who isn't tempted by such impulses.

Sixth, they are a great way to get normally sedentary nerdy kids (like I was) running around outside in fresh air.

I remember getting these when they first came out and firing them off with great results -and I was only a six-year-old girl just starting first grade. Of course, back then, classmates gave me grief for playing with toys that weren't dolls, tea-sets, or other girly toys, but I didn't care. These were that much fun. Heck, I'm going to buy some for myself for old times' sake!

As a young lad, I was often enticed into buying toys that claimed to soar into the sky 50ft, 100ft, 150ft or more, but I always came away disappointed, because they never lived up to their claims. Based on my childhood experiences, I didn't have high hopes for the Arrowcopter. Wow, was I shocked and amazed when I slung this thing for its first flight, and it effortlessly shot 150ft into the air. Once I started stretching the rubber band to its limit, the arrowcopter easily soared 300ft into the air. It's great fun. Makes a great stocking stuffer for any Dad...I mean, boy or girl.

I've played with this style toy in the past and they ROCK!

HOWEVER, I bought several of these this time and they were molded crooked. Bent to the point of not working even. ONE of the several I purchased worked ALMOST as intended after some careful twisting. I thought about sending them back and decided it wasn't worth my time, so I threw them in the trash after about ten minutes. Sigh...

I can see why the previous reviewers were disappointed, because it does seem pretty basic. However I think the reviewer who judged 1-2-3 Dora to lack substance is missing some key opportunities within this book. It is not just sequential counting 1-10.

The book starts out with Dora asking her little reader, "We're going on a picnic. Can you help me count the fruit for my basket?" Each page features a different fruit (pineapple, bananas, oranges, guavas, limes, mangos, cherries, strawberies, blueberries, and coconuts). While my 3-year-old can easily count in sequence from 1-10, he has not yet had much practice looking at a picture and counting how many of an object are there, which is what this book encourages. Not only that, but for my 15-month-old daughter, it will teach number sequence, build her English vocabulary (fruit names), and both my daughter and sons alike will get a light introduction to Spanish, which I LOVE. We are already bilingual (English and Arabic), so introducing the #2 language in the USA will help them.

I rate this book 5 stars since a large age range will actually benefit from this book, as advertised.

Very few pages and very little content overall compared to other Tag Jr books. No story, just counting 1 to 10.

I saw the previous review only gave this book 2 stars but decided to order it anyway because my family is bilingual and that is something i want to pass on to my little girl. It is a short book and does not follow a story line. I would still buy it again solely because it does contain spanish words and phrases; however, I was a bit disappointed because it calls banana the same in English and Spanish. I grew up knowing bananas were called "platanos" in spanish. I have friends from different parts of Mexico, Honduras, El Salvador even from Puerto Rico and we all know bananas as platanos in spanish so I'm wondering where leapfrog got there spanish from. I hope leapfrog makes more bilingual story books, but I hope they put a little more effort into it.

My little girl loves dora so when she got this book she was so happy. Its hard for her to rip it up so thats a plus and she loves the dora and boots songs.

My 3 year old loves this set of blocks and creating new patterns. She especially likes to have an adult work one half of the puzzle and then she problem solves and works the other half. My 5 year old also enjoys working with the patterns but not as much and she is more independent when working with it. Overall it is well worth the money. I was surprised with how well my kids like to play with it.

I purchased this wooden block puzzle for my 4-year-old grandson because it looked like (1)a challenging yet attractive puzzle game and (2) the pieces were not plastic and (3) it had a puzzle wooden frame for holding the pieces and (4) since it was made in Germany, I assumed that the EU requirements would not allow lead in the paint.

The game is fun for both kids and adults there are many variations of putting together the attractive wooden block pieces. It's a quality game/puzzle. It's maybe advanced for a 4 year old, but with adult help, it's a fun time together. I also recommend it for adults.

I bought this for "myself" but sometimes let the rest of the family enjoy it (ages 2, 5, 39 and plus all guests). It's beautifully made with very smooth colored wood pieces. You can recreate the patterns on the box or make up your own. We usually "play" it as a game for two people, where each person has one side of the puzzle. One person is the "leader" and the other "follows" by putting pieces in the same pattern as the leader. Have fun while teaching/learning about colors, shapes, sizes, geometric reasoning and patterns!

I bought this puzzle when my son was 3 1/2 years old and now he became 4 years old two months ago. It seemed little difficult at first but now he really enjoys it. He follows the patterns on the box and sometime he creates his own.

The most thing I satisfied w/ this is that my son completes the pattern w/ patience. Great Buy!
