This is a nice resource for test prep. I really like that each story has a fiction and a nonfiction version. Each short story has a game or some other comprehension activity to go with it. The kids are really enjoying a break from the worksheet passages we had been doing, and like being able to come up to the white board to manipulate the activities.

Bought several percussion instruments to get a family rhythm band going to get the 2 year old interested in music fundamentals for instance, a four count.

This is a real gourd with a carved "monkey" handle, and seed beads held loosely around the gourd with string. Fabulous sound that could be annoyingly loud if shaken without restraint, but is a pleasant addition to the band when kept within bounds. This is not a toy to be handed over to reckless children, but, with a little adult supervision is a percussion blast.

We use these in our idetiflyer alarm clock... A different bird sound chirps each hour and we change cards each week or so to keep the ambiance... we have a parrot and parakeet and they always stand to attention when they hear the different birds...

Ignore what the previous reviewer said, too, as he must have had a defective version. I used it for a college presentation and it worked great, it doesnt keep real accurate time, I lost maybe a minute over a 24 hour period, but it could have been the potatoes. Also works with lots of other vegetables and fruits.

The Time and Money flash cards feature 25 time and 30 money cards, 5 time tip cards, and 1 parent card. The parent card gives you ideas on how to introduce the concept of time and money using both the cards and real-life experience.

These cards teach children how to read both digital and analog clocks including how many minutes are in an hour and the meaning of the short and long hands on a clock. An example of one of the time cards shows a pocket watch showing 10 til 5; the back shows 4:50 on the face of a digital watch.

The money cards feature pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters. Sometimes the front and back of each coin are shown. For example, one card shows the front and back of a quarter. On the other side, it says "Place your coins on the spaces to equal 50 cents". There are two circles where a child can place actual coins in the spaces provided, reinforcing coin recognition. My six-year-old does NOT want to learn time on an analog clock... I have been trying...and trying...and trying all kinds of different ways... I found a mediocre set of time-flash cards where I live (on a US territory far, far away) and posted them on a wall by a clock with labels of the time shown and that has helped for the o'clocks...but the rest are still "tricky" for her...

I broke these babies out after receiving them last week and, at least for a short period, they kept her interested in learning a bit more because of the cute and changing pictures, front and back, on the cards...big and little hands are clearly shown and in different colors... She even showed interest in the money cards >:D ...another nemesis... again, with great ideas/pictures to capture attention...

This is so much less expensive than fiber optic ring lighting and much much better than cold cathode/fluorescent lighting.

Small, no wasted table top space for an illuminator box. Brightness is continuously adjustable from zero to 100%. Ring adapter fit the scope I had, but note that it will not fit the Bausch and Lomb Stereozoom 4 or 5.

Led's are aligned to project to a 'center'. Color temp is cool, and the reflection from a shiny object is interesting as you'll see all the individual LED's shining back at you.

We are using this light for PCB (printed circuit board) repair soldering and de-soldering components (0402, 0603 sizes). The light is more than adequate for our purposes and we are very happy with it. The product we received looks slightly different than the picture shown we received a white all-in-one unit with the dimmer on the light itself, while the picture shows an external unit with a dial for a dimmer. We don't care either way, as it works great, it must just be a stock photo.

I was concerned about getting enough light for a Stereozoom 6 Photo with 10x eyepieces (max 40x mag). However, I can use this at about half brightness and have enough. I expect it to have sufficient light up to ~80x. I also use it with a digital video capture attachment and there is plenty of light for that as well. Having both a power switch and a dimmer is very handy, as you can adjust your brightness and leave it adjusted for next time. The light output on mine is uniform to the naked eye out to ~2.25" diameter, then quickly bleeds away from there.

As the other reviewer noted, it will not mount directly on a Stereozoom 6, but what I did was purchase a cheap camera rear lens cap (the kind that thread on to to base of a lens when off the camera -Pentax M42) and cut the end off of it. That gave me a plastic ring I could thread onto the microscope to mount the light to.

This product is very nice. The light is very bright so things look fantastic under microscope. The only complaint is that you cannot regulate the intensity of the light. However, the quality is very good and I have ways of regulating the light so there is no big issue.

I heard about the Winkel on a message board for new mothers and thought I would give it a go. I absolutely love it! (or should I say he LOVES it!!) I purchased one of these for my 5 month old twins as they have different toy preferences. I had to order a second one because they both love the winkel so much. The toy seems very durable (won't break, finish will not come off).

The rattle is not very loud.

I'm of the mindset that this review should very much take into account the price paid(barely triple digits w/ free shipping). It's got all the markings of an inexpensive guitar. Plastic nut, noisy pickups, chunky frets, matte finish on the neck, cheap strings, etc. But if you're buying a guitar in this price range, these are all things that you expect and can probably live with. If you're expecting true Fender/Gibson type quality in a new guitar at this price, you aren't being realistic.

Now besides the expected cheapness, I think this guitar is great. The sunburst finish didn't have a single smudge, crack, dink, or scratch. The neck is smooth and straight. The action is very acceptable. The intonation is spot on right out of the box. I would recommend this guitar to anyone who is a beginner, or just looking for a cheap guitar as a secondary instrument. Sometimes you just can't afford even $300 for a guitar, and I think this piece really fits the bill.

My only negative is that it was shipped in a box w/ only about 1" of clearance all around and some small chunks of styrofoam to brace it. When I saw the packaging (or lack there of), I fully expected a damaged guitar...but to my surprise it was in perfect shape. You can always return it if it's damaged though.

Also...just a note. Pyle Pro may not be a standard guitar name, but they do have quite a few products on the market such as home A/V receivers, car stereos, speakers, etc. I also own a small Pyle Pro amp for some outdoor speakers and it also works well and was very inexpensive. Don't let the name brand prevent you from buying this guitar. At this price range, you're not gonna get much better than this.

Before I bought this guitar, I was looking for a Telecaster-style guitar for the first time. I was looking for deals online. In fact, I was looking for possible Squire Telecaster models for under $200 or possibly under $100. I found this one. After seeing this instrument online, I thought I finally had a chance to play a Telecaster-style instrument at a very affordable price. I even watched promotions of it on youtube where a good guitarist was playing the very model I was looking to purchase, the Pyle-Pro PGEKT35!!, I watched the video several times, getting a sense of how it would sound if I used it. I was trying my best to get a feel of it before finally purchasing it. After I decided to buy it (it came by UPS less than a week), I was happy to see it up close for the first time and to see how it actually felt in my hands!

Here is the sad story. To my disappointment. I noticed some things on this instrument that I did not like. The strings on the guitar are CHEAP! (I will consider replacing them soon), The tone knob is a bit rusted (although I bought it brand new). The nut feels like plastic. The finger board feels cheap and the metal frets seem very thick and cheap. The neck, although its VERY SMOOTH, would be a lot better if it were glossy coated. The overall feel of the neck feels cheap, sad to say.

What is good about it? It comes with two Allen wrenches, and a guitar cord. Its not neck heavy as some very low-end guitars. It uses Paulownia wood (somewhat similar to Alder wood). The saddle holding the strings reminds me of an actual Fender or Squire telecaster. although some guitarists complain about the weight of certain guitars (this one is 12-13 lbs), I like HEAVY GUITARS. I play the bass (which is usually heavier than guitars). I don't want it to feel like a toy or a Guitar Hero device. I gave this instrument a low rating because the expectations of it were not met. I would only recommend this guitar as a "starter" instrument for those wishing to get their first "Telecaster". As for live performances or bands, I am not sure.
