This is one of the coolest manipulative toys for education that I have ever seen. I worked with the PTA of the elementary school that my daughter attended and if I had known about this product back then I would have recommended that the PTA purchase some of them for the early classes.
They are thin sticks approximately six inches long that can be bent into shapes and then restored. What sets them apart from pipe cleaners is that they stick to nearly all surfaces. When I read that characteristic in the documentation, I tried sticking them to nearly everything in my home office, the only surface that was questionable was the plastic case of my monitor.
The package also contains a set of thick paper panels containing the numbers one through twenty with the goal being that the student will bend the stix into the shape(s) of the number. This will also teach manual dexterity while the knowledge of small numbers is being absorbed. Their flexibility will also allow them to be used in simple constructions of two and three-dimensional shapes. There is no better way to understand shapes than to create them using your hands. The stix are also completely safe, they contain a food-grade non-toxic wax and no latex or nut products. Parents that want to give their children educational toys and leaders of scout troops will also find them very valuable in teaching the children. Bulk packages of the stix and a large number of posters are available.

My daughter was playing with these at school so I decided to reinforce at home. There are many cards and Stix. The Stix seem to loss their sticky pretty fast and crimp up. We are using the cards to trace on now. Overall a good educational toy but probably need to buy extra Stix.
