Ive actually had this exact planetarium since I was a kid, and now and I let my kids play with it. Im super old, so its lasted a long time. There are several different discs that you can put in the middle to see different parts of the night sky, and one disc with the sun and planets. It comes with a cassette tape that talks about what you're looking at unfortunately, I did lose that part of it, so I don't remember what it says or if it was any good. I gave 4 stars because the discs are a bit flimsy and easy to dent, and also because there is no a/c cord it's all on batteries. All in all, it's a good little toy, the stars look nice on the ceiling and the kids like it. There are a lot of fancier things out there, but this is good too.

My 14 month old grand-daughter AND her grandma LOVE this toy! We have spent many happy hours playing with these fantastic little cups! I would love to meet the genius who invented these.

This toy can do a multitude of things -you can stack them, roll them, put fun stuff inside, put them together! When they are together, we roll them, stack them, spin them, throw them! Paige runs around the house, holding two of them! She loves to bang them together! What FUN!!!

The colors are bright, the cups have special little designs on each one, along with numbers too. They are durable and withstand little hands, feet, even rear ends!

This is one of my favorite toys to play with. I have started purchasing these as baby gifts for friends. The ways you can entertain with these stack and roll cups are numerous; Paige and I constantly find ways to have fun with these. One of our favorite ways to play with these cups is to take them apart and place them side-by-side on the floor. They look so pretty! Then, we take little rubber ducks and sit them on top of each cup. Now, this is fun!

It is also fun to SNAP!!! these cups together, they inter-mingle and can fit together with other sizes nicely. The SNAP!!!! sound seems to make a funny impression on toddlers!

Get some of these cups for the babies in your life. You will all have a great time. Not only are they FUN, but they serve as an educational tool with the different colors, designs, and numbers. Babies will not even know they are learning because they are having so much fun!!!

This would make it on my top five list of toys for a toddler. There seem to be an infinite number of ways to play with these -the cups can be stacked in different ways, with handy ridges that allow each size to fit on any of the larger sizes and stay together; they can be put together to make 5 different balls, nested, and any combination of these things (my older kids like nesting the balls inside eachother). Since each one has a hole they are easy for my 15 month old to grab, and now she has discovered that after you snap them together as balls, they make a cool sound when you talk through one end. Even my 6 and 8 year old boys enjoy finding new things to do with these cups. We like rolling and stacking the balls after they're made, putting various small toys inside each ball and peeking in to see them, and just stacking the cups in different ways. Sometimes they are cups or bowls for pretend eating or drinking. Or they're hats, or telescopes. The colors are beautiful, and we haven't even started exploring the numbers/shapes on them yet. They also feel indestructible. I love that the whole toy, when nested together, takes up little space. This is one excellently crafted, well-designed toy that encourages creativity and good fun, with an infinite number of uses for the imaginative kid.

I got this before my son was born and he first used it he when was about 5 months old. He liked banging the cups together. The yellow jingly ball for the top is one of his favorite things to carry around the house. He is a year now, and is figuring out how to stack the cups. He also has enjoyed rolling the balls, spinning the balls, and shaking the balls, with other items inside to make rattles. The cups are indestructable and are fun to use everywhere, including the bath tub and kiddie pool. Definitely a great toy, that is well worth the money for many hours of creative fun and learning.

This toy looks so fun, and has educational value on several levels, but it turned out to be very frustrating simply because the cups are more than a little difficult to take apart. The children at my daycare were delighted with the colors, and with the whole concept of nesting and stacking, but when they were all nested together into one ball, it was impossible for the children to open them and difficult, to say the least, even for me. Also, they're slippy-slidey when stacked together, although that's not a big problem. I'm really disappointed. I expect to be able to make a purchase with confidence from a respected name like Fisher Price.

I love that these bowls stack, nest, connect as balls, and I love the colors. I got these for my daughter when she was about 8 months, and now she's 14 months old. She does not play with them on her own as much as I thought she would, which is why I gave it 4 not 5 stars. I think these would be great for kids a bit older who get the stacking concept-you really have to push them together to get them to stack big to small. She loves the Jingle smile face ball and will grab that the most. She also loves to roll around the balls when they are put together more than anything else.

There is a hole in every piece, which are great for baby fingers to grab on to. She can easily hold even the largest piece. The downside of the holes is that they don't hold water for pouring in the bathtub, but she still likes to play with them a lot in the tub.

They are very durable; they have withstood many throws and drum hits on our hardwood floor.

Educational uses: The colors are great -the red/orange fit together for the balls; the yellows, greens, blues, purples do the same. Additionally, each bowl has small indentions of shapes around the hole. So the pieces with the triangles go together; the pieces with the stars go together, etc. There is also a number on each piece: 1 through 10, big through little.

This game is great! Both my 2 (almost 3 year old) and my 5 1/2 year old sons LOVE this game and they can both do it. They often feud over this one and we have had to resort to major turn taking over this game. It is great as it teaches lots of cool stuff, plus they can really enjoy just being goofy and creative making all sorts of different creatures! This game is #1 at our house!

This game was good. I had bought it for my at the time 2 1/2 year old daughter. She is very bright and catches on to things quickly. This game amazed me what it taught her. I have personally played it and find it kind of fun. I am not quite sure the object of the game. I think it is to decorate the monster's house how you like it. The thing that is challenging is that you have to put shapes together in a certain way to make each and every thing. Like for instance the house. There are triangles, squares, hectagon, etc that go together into the shape of a big triangle. After putting the house together you get to design the outside, like color it or put patterns on it. Then you go inside and create the rooms by putting shapes together again. While you are making the items for inside the house it says the shape of each block. It gets more challenging as you increase the level for the child. You eventually have to start turning and flipping pieces with more sides to them to make it fit. There are timed games etc. Overall this game definitely does offer something for your children that the other games do not for the age group.

It's nothing special my 5 y.o played it for a day or so and then put it aside for good. The game may be of certain interest for younger kids, perhaps, 4 y.o. Graphics are pretty much standard and of a good quality.

Our four year old loves this game! He especially enjoys putting together the puzzles of the creatures and creating the different creatures. He also enjoys building the creatures homes. I would recommend this toy.

Little Tikes Discover Sounds Cell Phone Review

We just got this cell phone (rated for 6+ months) for our 11 month old son about a week ago.

Durability:

It has been dropped from heights, thrown across the room, beaten onto the cement outside, and drooled on a lot. And I can't find a scratch on it. It's very durable.

Sound:

This toy is much quieter than many other child toys we have. This is a huge thing for us since some toys just seem SO loud. It has a child saying the numbers when the numbers are pressed and has three set sounds for each of the green and red phone buttons.

What my child thinks:

I know this is still his newest toy but my son seems to like it very much. He gets ahold of my cell phone about half as much since we got this one. He likes dragging it around with him so that must be a five star infant rating!

*EDIT* We've had this phone for 3 years now and had to change the batteries recently for the first time. It still works great and after being not played with for many months, it's become a new/old favorite for my son to play pretend. I expect it will last through both our kids.

This phone has taken a beating over time and doesn't have a scratch on it. The thing I love most of all is the volume. It is pretty quiet. My baby can hear it just fine and press the buttons over and over with out it getting on anyone's nerves.

This phone interested my 1-1/2 year old for about a day and has been collecting dust ever since. It just can't compete with the real thing. The sound effects are also very quiet and hard to hear. I didn't like how the 2 upper buttons don't each make one consistent sound when pressed--it makes it harder for kids to play and pretend.

My 5 year-old grandson thought the Insect Lore Bug "Catcher" was just great. He played with it all day--catching sow bugs, other small bugs. My daughter got this last Christmas she was 18 months. She still loves it and sings along with her ABC's. Now our son, 10 months, adores it. It's a lifesaver in the car when I'm trying to drive I can hear them babbling along with it, singing, changing gears, sounds, and honking their own horn. It distracts them wonderfully during rush hour a time when most babies and toddlers are cranky, and so are we. This way we get to make the commute home a little nicer and educational.

Surprisingly, it's one of the few toys they willingly share. I don't understand why, but I'm not going to question why. I'm just going to be grateful for the peace it gives me during my commute, and the joy it gives my kids.

It's also easily cleaned. (a very big plus). It has volume control and an off switch also very important. There are several different settings, so you don't find yourself listening to the same thing over and over and over again. There's songs, counting, alphabet, as well as driving and environmental sounds, and visual stimulation for them also on the screen. It's also very durable, since I keep it in the car (I won't take it out, since I'm afraid I might forget it at home.) Both my kids have dropped it a number of times and so have I. And it still works as great as it did the day we got it.

We bought this toy for our sons 1st birthday. He loved it. He would sit for 20-30 minutes just playing with it. At the same time we were working with our 2 daughters on learning the alphabet and the sounds of each letter. Well one day while ds was playing with the toy both our daughters sat down on either side of him and started saying the alphabet and learning the sounds. I never expected this toy to entertain a 1 yr old, 3 yr old, and 5 yr old all at the same time. It has truly been a blessing and made teaching the alphabet so much easier and fun.

My two-month-old loves Peanut the Elephant. He has been spending time in his Infantino Square Twist & Fold Activity Gym (another great Infantino product) since he was about a month old. He enjoyed a few of the hanging animals that came with the gym (the monkey and the elephant). However, for younger babies these animals are a bit small for them, so I hung Peanut the Elephant from the gym (a lot of the Infantino animals like Peanut are interchangeable in the gym) and he adores it. He laughs at Peanut and will move the animal so that he can see the face. Now that he is older and has more control over his movements, my baby will bat and grab at Peanut's legs and the two discs that hang from the animal (one is textured and the other rattles). I love Peanut because he stimulates so many of my baby's developing senses and encourages the development of so many skills. Now I can put my baby in his activity gym and he will be content playing in it for anywhere from 20 to 45 minutes.

I had gotten this on special for a nephew. When we received them I realized the foam would not take well to chewing, which was definitely an issue. My four year old saw them and took an immediate liking to them, so I let her have them. She uses them along with her wodden blocks for building and other things. It has an nice educational set of cards with it, but she really prefers them for building. Go figure.

My three-year-old son saw this toy chainsaw at a pre-school we visited and loved it. He loved it so much, he asked for it for his birthday. He really likes this toy and has lots of fun with it. I, on the other hand, can't stand it because it is so loud and noisy. My solution was to leave it at my in-laws house since they have a very "wooded" yard. It is great fun for him to pretend he is cutting branches with it.

Bought this toy for my 4 year old who asked for a toy chain saw for Christmas. I arrived on time, which was good, and looked like it would serve its intended purpose. However, after it was opened as a present and run, I noticed that the plastic chain would not turn unless assisted with a finger push. I can hear the gear grinding as if it is not lined up properly with another gear or something along those lines. I took it apart with the hope of fixing it to no avail and I am usually pretty good at fixing things. In summary, this toy is junk and I would not recommend it.

My nephew absolutely loved the games in this Nemo cartridge...I did do because they are educational and teach him various things that he probably would have no interest in...At least he is broading his horizons in a way that he enjoys.

This particular game is not one of her favorites but she does like it and play it regularly. I purchased the v smile for her for Christmas along with about 7 games. My only mistake was to give them all to her at once. As with any 4 year old, who is having their first game system experience, she would play a game for a minute or two and then get discouraged and put in another. I had to take them all away and let her choose one game to play per day. Whichever game she chose for that day was the only one she got no matter how hard she found it. That did the trick, she learned how to play all of them in this manner and now I let her choose as she pleases. These are great games for the age group, this one in particular.

I play on a street percussion band and we needed an alto that can resonate over all of the hand drums. This is a great instrument. Great for older kids who are serious drummers or percussion players as well. A quality xylophone.

My 15 month old son really likes this toy. It's easy to carry around & safe for him to chew on. He doesn't quite understand the concept of putting the paintbrush into the can yet, but he likes pushing the buttons, hearing the sounds & seeing the light flash. There is volume control and an off-switch, which is a plus. There are a variety of sounds & phrases, enough so that it doesn't get old. I'm sure it'll help introduce him to colors & shapes when he's older & can understand it.

My daughter is 15 months and really enjoys this toy. She loves putting it in and out of the bucket. The light up brush is really nice, with a soft glow and tons of colorsshe likes when it plays a song and does a little light show, flashing all the colors. The purple, orange, and blue are her favorites. The volume isn't too high, and the songs aren't annoying to parents. I like to dim the lights a little and then she REALLY enjoys the light up paintbrush. I can see her playing with this for a long time. She has already started "painting" the couch, the floor, and even the dogs! Lightweight and easy to throw in the diaper bag for a play date or visit to grandma's.

I got this as a Christmas gift for my 21 month old son after reading so many positive reviews. We were taking a long car trip the first week of January and thought it would be a great car toy. This is NOT a great car toy, it's not even a GOOD car toy. Don't EVER take this toy into the car. We would hear it going off, singing and making sounds when our son had dropped it out of his seat and it was buried under things. I though that surely that's why it was going off, bumps were making something press against it...nope it would do it if just sitting on the seat with nothing touching it. It doesn't hold my son's attention for more than a minute or two.

All that being said I do think it's a neat little toy and a good general concept. All kids are different so if you think your kid will like it for the price, it's worth giving it a shot. I do not however recommend taking it in the car!!

My son (1yo) loves this... the only thing I wish was different was that you cannot manually change the settings from shape, color and song so random. But we also haven't had a lot of time to experiment yet. So far, so good... love that there is a volume control and off button. Even at the loudest this toy is not loud enough to offend!

Good quality and value for the price and quantity received, but the letters are very small. The description does state 1 1/4" tall, so it is not the fault of the seller, but my 4 year old prefers larger letters for spelling words on the fridge (we have leftover letters from an old Leap Frog Word Whammer toy and wanted more letters, as he is really excited about spelling now.) I am sure we will use these in the future, just wanted to alert potential buyers that they are on the small side.

Letters are slightly smaller than others that I've purchased, BUT not by much (they are used together quite well) & actually are much better quality.

I have a toddler (tosses them across the room pretty regularly LOL) & two young school age grandsons & they serve my purpose great!!! :-)

Not to mention the sentences & other things my oldest son leaves on the front of the fridge!!!

I'll be ordering more.
