I purchased this tone set to use in my kindergarten classroom. The description states that there are two different tones, however the item I received did not have two different tones. What is the point of having two tones when they are the same?

Review of Woodstock Percussion ZENERGY2 Zenergy Meditation Chime Percussion
I have one of the smaller, single-"bell" units and like the tone it produces, clear, ringing, with LOTS of resonances; this two-"bell" unit is much more complex in the tone(s) it produces. When both "bells" are struck, I can "feel the beats" between the tones generated, which are slightly offset. The resulting mixed sound is extremely complex compared to the single unit, and has an "Oriental" overcast to the tones as they mix. If you're a "pure western music" "trained ear", you might find this a little unsettling at first, since there doesn't seem to me to be a "normal diatonic" relationship between the primary tones, but rather an "Oriental" relationship. If you're looking for an "Oriental-ish" sound, this little unit should be considered.

These are good posters to represent the different trees in the world. My students enjoyed them because they could see where different forests are in the world.

I loved the idea of this product because our 1-year old (20 month) son loves to watch his father workout and lift weights. I hoped that getting him a toy that would help him feel included in the workout would keep him occupied (and also out of daddy's way for safety reasons.) He will play with them for a while, but quickly loses interest. The toys are easy enough for him to turn on and off by himself, but frankly (like many toys) the sounds are annoying and even with a volume control switch (off/low/high) he always turns them up full blast. The toy is supposed to say "up," "down," and give directions like that, but it hasn't not proven to be a very useful teaching tool. It might be in our best interest to take the batteries out and just call them weights. I almost wish there was a better "pretend" weights/exercise set that would just be what it is without all the sound effects and such.
I also think that this toy would be better suited for younger toddlers, even though the box says 18+ months.

Not a fault of the product but these do not hold a toddlers attention long. My 18month son only played with these for a cpl of month but his younger sister seems to enjoy them much more.Best Deals for VTech Jungle Gym Twist and Learn Gorilla Pals
So, I like to do a workout video that requires hand weights. I got these for my 2.5 year old she she can "exercise" along with me. She was always trying to get my 5 lb weights from me before. Now, she has her own. She seems okay with them. I can see that they are probably meant for younger kids...but they are helping me get through more of my exercise video with her at my side.Honest reviews on VTech Jungle Gym Twist and Learn Gorilla Pals

I purchased Set 1, Set 2, and the downloadable workbook online from this seller. The cards are durable, wipeable, almost index sized.
The Seller is fantastic & provided above & beyond service, with a extra heap of patience. The workbook is a 1 time download, so do it off a computer connected to a printer (not your tablet).
My child has PDD-NOS, ADHD, Dyslexia and Sensory challenges. He was sent home a list of sight words to memorize last year but he couldn't do it. He continued this year with 'review' of the words he should have known but still wan't grasping how to memorize them. We have tried a variety of silly ways to drill them down to him, but these cards were the first thing to consistently 'stick' with him.
In the past we've had all the Elementary School teachers on board with questioning my child 'what sight word do you have in your pocket today'. It was an adorable idea, & he had a lot of fun charming those teachers, but it didn't work. We've added sensory components at home, we've used live caterpillars to climb to the next word as a positive reinforcement, we've used the treadmill's on switch & placed the sight word on the track whenever he read a word out loud....we still had a very frustrated little boy.
These cards WORK!
I am so extremely grateful for the designer! Takes a special type who gets our kids to come up with these sort of tools. Can't wait to buy set 3, 4, 5, etc. These picture cards are great for teaching sight words. I got the combo of sets 1 and 2 and I love the picture cues in them, some are really funny and that helps them stick in children's minds. I also like that they don't clutter the card and the word is still visible clearly. Great buy!

Best Fisher Price Learning Sensation Play with Letters Desk Deals
My 3 year old loves learning letters and phonics and trying to learn to read. She chose this toy at the toy store in reward for potty training. She couldn't wait to 'drag' those big block letters accross the board! I was so happy she chose something educational. We opened it and what a dissapointment! It is a GREAT CONCEPT! She loved dragging the letters accross the board to make sound (the name of the letter, phonics sound, and letter beginning with it) is said clearly when you drag a letter. The PROBLEM IS that it is just not refined enough. Literally a third of the time, the letters don't read. Even when your child drags the right letter it asks for, it sometimes will not read it giving them the feeling they got it wrong. It was very glad I was sitting there to tell her it was right and to keep trying. Sometimes she had to drag it again and again and it still wouldn't read and we would have to turn the thing off and on again and start with a new letter. I couldn't even get it to read 1/2 the time after she failed even after doing it perfectly as instructed in the manuel-which 3-year olds don't read so what good is touchiness like that in a toy! Total frustration within 10 minutes. The toy has an ON button that is not clearly marked, you just have to know that is the right one. The other 3 buttons for modes of play are confusing. You press the note button for a 'song' about the letter. But it takes forever to play this little intro song and meanwhile, your kid has dragged several letters accross the thing trying to make it work. By the time the intro song is over, they are over with it too and pressing other buttons to get it to work which only confuses the machine more. The other two buttons are a button that makes it ask for certain letters and a quiz button. The questions are fine. My kid was very excited to answer as she knows alot of her letter already and yet 1/3 the time it didn't respond to her rolling the letters. Again, this is a great fun and educational concept but not refined enough. I truly would have rated it the tops for education if I was only rating it when it worked! But, I don't see how it can teach when it doesn't respond to your child's answers half the time. I am going to keep trying to convince my little girl that she should bring this poor working toy back to the store and pick another reward but you know how hard that is for kid's to understand. She wants to play with it so badly but is already walking away from it each time she trys. I am so glad I opened the package carefully! Skip this one and get the little letter desk that comes with a magnetic chalkboard, word cards with cut outs where the letters magnetically fit into, and magnetic letters. It is not electronic but great fun and still taken out every other day here after 6 months. It is by Fisher-Price as well and I think it is called the ABC something and it is much cheaper and self-correcting in that the correct magnetic letters only fit in the word cards! My girl loved being able to 'spell words' with this. Good luck.

I love to purchase fun educational toys for my children and was excited to get this home for them. When each block is dragged across the desk it is supposed to "read" each block. The blocks should say the letter, the sound it makes and a word beginning with the letter. Unfortunately, the desk doesn't always read the letters and it often took several tries before it did. There are games that can be played too, but my children never got that far since they couldn't get it to respond properly. This would be a great toy if it worked as it is described by the manufacturer. Fisher-Price needs to improve this toy before I would recommend anyone to buy this. I think the LeapFrog Read and Write Phonics desk is a better purchase if you are looking for a toy that will help with letter recognition, phonics, writing, and spelling games.Best Deals for Fisher Price Learning Sensation Play with Letters Desk
This toy works great and is helping my just turned 4 yr. old his letters and sounds. His almost 6 sister also loves it and it is helping her learn and practice her phonics. They like to play school together with this toy. Cool item and well worth it. Great price for such a good toy. Also the volume level is nice and not annoying-so many toys are so loud and annoying-not this one.Honest reviews on Fisher Price Learning Sensation Play with Letters Desk

Best The Family Dinner Box of Questions Deals
I bought The Family Dinner Box of Questions for my family for a cute little add-on Christmas present. Christmas morning it was tossed aside... but EVERY DAY since, we eat dinner & get a card out! My kids (ages 7,8,9) LOVE this and when their friends come over... it's a HIT! It's very durable, coated cardboard so no worry if you spill something on it. 1 easy thought provoking question per card... One of my kids reads it & everyone at the table has to give their answer. VERY INTERESTING TO SEE WHAT YOUR KIDS WILL SAY!!! I'm buying MANY more for Christmas presents for family-friends!

Reviews of Fisher-Price Bright Beginnings Stacking Action Blocks
My 10 month old grandson was actually difficult to buy toys for this past Christmas. He's too old for teethers and fabric blocks that don't do anything, but too young for hammering or stacking blocks. This set was perfect for him. He can hold them on his own and flip the little doors or push the top buttons. He will play with these for 20-30 mins at a time which is a lot for a 10 month old! I've even seen him try to stack them up himself. I'm very pleased with this product and would recommend it for those "inbetween" (not infant, not toddler) babies!

I was surprised to see all the different kinds of activities on these little blocks. They are smaller than I expected, but each side has something interesting to touch, move, push. They don't stack very well, but when they are stacked, they interact. If you stack them and push the head on the top block, all three blocks have spinning sides that respond. But my baby just doesn't seem interested in them when he's alone with them. He likes when we play together with them, but it never goes to it on his own.Best Deals for Fisher-Price Bright Beginnings Stacking Action Blocks
My little guy loves to have these blocks stacked only to knock them down. He loves the "action" of these blocks. The blocks are easy to handle for his little hands. He holds them and chews on them and loves to scatter them around the room. It is nice gift for a baby and they are not loud or annoying.Honest reviews on Fisher-Price Bright Beginnings Stacking Action Blocks
For those little hands, these are terrific for handling. The great assortment of colors, patterns, "moving parts" on the sides really stimulate a child's interest. My son is teething and wants everything in the mouth of course. The sides of this offer a nice variety of textures too. My son's favorite thing with these is to have them stacked on top of one another to either watch all the motions in sync when the top button is pressed OR just to knock down the stack of blocks. They stack to the perfect height for a child who sits up. Bravo to the manufacturer!!Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Fisher-Price Bright Beginnings Stacking Action Blocks
I got these for my son at about 8 months. He's now almost 14 months and still loves to play with these blocks. He's a "banger" so he loves to bang on the silly heads and watch the front spin. He's also learning how to stack them up. They're also small enough to put in his bag when we go out. I didn't even notice that they had stickers on them. But, his daycare center has these too, and ten one-year-olds play with them every day and the stickers have never come off. A great toy for the money.Sunday, September 7, 2014
Reviews of Janod Barbecue Trolley
A great gift for kid learning to walk. Get one early before they start, this one is well made in France and pretty too.I have always been a big fun of Janod and own many of their products. My 16-month old loves this BBQ trolley. It is so pretty to look at and is very well made. It is a great walker also. I wish I knew about this trolley when my son was just learning to walk. Unlike many walkers out there in market, this one doesn't tip over and is very safe for babies just starting to pull up also.

New! Amazing Electronic Nature's Fire Undersea Volcano Reviews
It's not huge, but it's pretty cool. The lights are nice; they vary from white to blue to red and seem random. As the pellets fall, they are recirculated through the volcano at different rates, so the eruption seems to ebb and flow. Pretty neat. And the volcano produces tiny bubbles which look like smoke, visible mainly when room lights are dim.
Mine worked perfectly out of the box, but I'd suggest two things: first, the instructions recommend soaking the balls for at least six hours before running the volcano. I just let it sit overnight. Second, add a drop of dishwashing detergent, as instructed. Just a tiny bit. I initially tried just using filtered water, but the pellets didn't sink well. They sank immediately when I added a drop of soap.
So there you go, a cool looking and fun toy, a nice little Mount Doom for our upcoming LOTR party!

PLAN Toy Pull Along Snake Reviews
Great toy from Plan Toys, but unlike the dancing alligator, the design of the snake causes the string to get caught in the wheels. It gets a minute or two of play time, but then I have to pull the string out and by then my son has already moved on. Stick with the Dancing Alligator over the snake.

I purchased this toy for my young daughter a few years ago when she was just learning to walk. She has received alot of enjoyment out of it. It is still in service with two daughters. I like to get her simple, more traditional type toys and this certainly fit the bill. It is well made, colorful, and pleasantly animated. The wheels are skewed so the snake undulates as it is pulled. No batteries, no electricity, just fun and imagination.Friday, July 18, 2014

First, I want to say that we LOVE Alex's craft box kits! We have so many even doubles of some. I ordered this boxed set for my 3 year old for Easter. We were so excited to sit down and open it. Our excitement didn't last too long however. The safety scissors are a big disappointment. They are difficult to use and can barely cut. There is safety and then there is useless. These are useless. Everything that is perforated (snake, lion,...) rips when you try to pop it out. I am an adult very experienced with perforated edges (1st grade teacher) and these are horrible. We ruined the snake to the point of my 3 year old crying. I tried taping it, but I am still angry. And this kit does not include a glue stick which you need like the other Alex kits. So I could keep complaining because everything seems tainted now, but I'll stop. I would have returned it, but my son wanted to play so bad. P.S. I have opened the sneaker yet. I hope it is a good product because it looks cute.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for ALEX® Toys - Early Learning Ready, Set, School -Little Hands 1454

Best LeapFrog Leapster Learning Game Scholastic I Spy Deals
I bought this thinking it would be like the books or our "I Spy Fantasy" CD-ROM for the computer, but it is nothing like either of these. There is one game choice that is actually an "I Spy" classic game, however, it's limited to 24 levels, and that's it. It repeats each time, so, if played often, it quickly becomes old. Another is strictly a matching game, set up like the Frogger game from the "old days" --moving pieces from the bottom of the screen to their match at the top. Don't get me wrong, my kids enjoy the game. My oldest (8) found it very easy, but it didn't hold his attention for as long as I thought it would. My youngest (4) really enjoys playing it and has no difficulty maneuvering though the games at all, although he tends to stay on the matching games. It's definitely a game he will "grow" with -the older kids, probably not so much. All in all, a decent game.

Best Let's Count Numbers Placemat Deals
My 6-year-old loves this placemat. He knows his numbers 1-100 pretty well, but still likes to work on them, and he is very curious about the thousands, millions, etc. so he really likes this. The colors are wonderful something I enjoy seeing on the table. One side is for practicing writing the numbers with watercolor markers he loves writing the numbers and having me time him. He will look at the number chart while he is eating and think about the numbers. It's great. I give it another week before it starts to get "old" (he sees it at least 3 times a day)then I will put it in the rotation with other placemats so he does not completely lose interest. Not a fault of this placemat, of course, just human nature. I expect he will enjoy this placemat for at least another year with varying use.

We have 3 of these M Ruskin placemats. They hold up really well to daily abuse. They are easy to wipe off quickly with a washcloth or in the sink if we ate something more messy. They are simple construction, but very effective and just what is needed and they are a great value. Nice quality print and nicely laminated with good edges. Previously, we had a different type of laminated mat that wasn't as nice and didn't have a good edge so it soaked up water when you wiped it down or got it wet.
