Cheap VTech MobiGo Software Cartridge - Dinosaur Train
Dinosaur train is my son's favorite show. He just loves this game. There are 4 to choose from. He is fairly proficient at 3 of the games that deal with hunting down fossils, hunting down mr. conductor, hunting down dinosaur eggs, making hypotheses with buddy, finding letters on the keyboard to spell various dinosaur names, following direction about dinosaurs, ect. He is definitely frustrated by the 4th game which deals with memorizing patterns, but he is only 4 and am happy everything wasn't super easy for him straight away (room to grow!). He has mastered most easy levels of the previous stated and has moved on to difficult (he is so proud of himself). He plays this independently and I would highly recommend any dinosaur train fan to purchase this product!

Reviews of Go Go Caterpillar by Discovery Toys
Got this for the grandbabies and they love it. There are swirly beads in the wheels which rattle. You push it down and it rolls along the floor when you let go. 1-2 year olds love it. Works best on hard floor, but will run on carpet if not too plush.

I was having a hard time finding a gift for my 5 month old grandson because so much is passed down from his older sister, and I think a lot of what is found in stores is nothing special. I remembered that a neighbor had given his sister Safari Gears from Discovery Toys and she just loved it, so I decided to see what other things Discovery Toys offered. The Go Go Caterpillar had great reviews so that's what I went with -and no regrets! The 5 month old loves it now and it is something he can still play with as he grows. His 2 1/2 year old sister also liked playing with it. Construction and quality seem first-rate too.Best Deals for Go Go Caterpillar by Discovery Toys

Agate Light Table Slices (set of 12) Reviews
I wanted to give my first graders a unique gift for Christmas. I found a picture book about a moose named Agate and decided that I would read this book to my class and then give them each their own agate. I was surprised to find some that I could afford and the picture of the agates looked as if they were a nice size. I was disappointed when they arrived because they weren't the size that the picture makes them out to be and they weren't as colorful. However, my students loved them. If you purchase these, you may get a lot of dark (or as one student said, dull) colors--not the variety that the picture shows and they fit in the palm of a first grader's hand.
I use this slices for making jewelery.
I feel a bit controversial about this pieces. Some of them are my favorites among other cabochons and pendants very beautiful and eye catching, will bring a wonderful variety to any necklace etc. One or two gave me such a strong inspiration I couldn't wait to start creating with them!
But at the same time, most of what you get are very dark or gray or brown, or pale/partially transparent, or just some other color that is hard to define. Dark blue or violet at best.
Not catching, they will sit forever in my box with materials.
One came broken in half. Well it wasn't the best one, so I don't care happily, the brightest ones came safe) and one had a small chunk cracked off it, near the border line, still possible to use if hide a particular detail a little.
So I took one star for 70% of boring colors and one star for 2 of them being damaged.
I wish I had the orange like the one on the provided picture!

I bought this for my 4-year-old son, along with a partitioned collection bin for storage, as a start to his new rock collection. He treats them with care and loves to "study" them, along with other rocks he now has. These thin slices are fun because he can hold them up to the sun or place them on top of a lit surface to look at the color rings and swirls. He uses a magnifying glass, too, and feels like a real scientist. I think it really helps for a kid to get his hands on science rather than just looking at pictures. Ours are quite colorful, and I really enjoy looking at them with him. They are maybe 1.5-2 inches long and we've got pink, purple, blue, orange, brown, etc. A good purchase!Best Deals for Agate Light Table Slices (set of 12)
They are vibrant and beautiful, and they make great jewelry pieces! I can imagine that children would find them interesting, they are are typical dyed agate slices at a great price.Honest reviews on Agate Light Table Slices (set of 12)
I was looking for agate slices for my 6-year old rock collector to use on a light table, among other things. I am not sure why people think these are small, in my opinion these are very typical about 3 inches in length and 1 1/2 to 2 wide. These slices are quite thin which makes them more transparent and excellent for viewing on a light table but does make them appear a little more on the fragile side (however, ours have been dropped on a hardwood floor and shaken in a hard plastic container and they have whithstood it all). The colors were wonderful we received quite a variety of colors including blues, greens, purples, and shades of tan and brown. Overall, these were an excellent purchase and I would buy them again!Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Agate Light Table Slices (set of 12)

Cheap Guinness World Records Reading Book; 128 pages; Grade 5; no
I bought this book today as I was looking for some reading comprehension text books to compliment my 9 year old son's curriculum. The fact that the book is by the "Guinness Book of Records" publishers appealed to me immediately. My son devours these books and others with a similar theme.
The inside page of the book states the following:
"Guinness World Records Reading is divided into five themed units, with each unit highlighting incredible achievements in a specific category. Some of the records are exciting, some are unsettling, and some of them are just plain unbelievable but, they are all extraordinary!"
and
"Each passage about a Guinness World Record holder is followed by questions that target such basic skills as recalling, summarizing, understanding the main idea, making connections, and drawing conclusions."
The five themed units are:
Amazing Animals
Engineering, Science and the Body
Earth Extremes
Game Time!
Wild, Wacky & Weird
The book is colorful with photos on every page. Each themed unit could easily be included with subjects being studied. I plan to add it into our lesson plans as a fun activity and I'm guessing he won't think its work!Book was cheaper on amazon then on other websites. I cannot wait to try it out with my students. The articles are high interest and the questions are relevant to the text.

Reviews of Mini-Mighty Mind Ages 3-8 (#40104)
While this is recommended for ages 3-8, it was no challenege at all for my 5 year old and my 3 year old was able to figure everything out pretty simply within a matter of minutes. I would have expected it to be more of a challenge and a longer-lived item, but since it was so easy they haven't bothered with it much since the first day we got it.

It's a nice compact item. The outlines start at a very easy level and progress to pretty difficult for the small number of pieces. Great for travel and affordable enough to make a gift to your child's classroom.Best Deals for Mini-Mighty Mind Ages 3-8 (#40104)
I had a ot of fun watching my son figure these out, but it was fairly easy for him. He figure out all the cards in one sitting. He turns 4 in a month, so I con't see how this would be challenging for an 8-year-old.Honest reviews on Mini-Mighty Mind Ages 3-8 (#40104)
This was a great purchase. I work with a lot of children who have difficulties with spatial relations. The children even enjoyed removing the pieces and putting them back into the storage section. Best B. Ballyhoo Ball Deals
So very happy to be directed to you (Amazon.com) by the company that creates this toy...they only create; they do not sell their product. my friend JD is 19 months old & his pt lent him the Ballyhoo ball to help JD with his hand & finger therapy. the Ballyball is bright, the smaller balls are different in color & texture. they are durable; yet they are 'kind' to a toddler's grasp. they are 'at home' in JD's wading pool & are easy to clean. wether just one or all the balls are used at the same time, they entertain & help JD' s therapy needs...which is our goal. since JD was so preoccupied with the Ballyhoo, i wanted him to have his own...it seems to be 'new' each time he reaches for it. this child at 19 months is unable to crawl; yet he has learned to get around & seek out his favorite toys...his Ballyhoo is one of those!!B. My 1 year old absolutely loves this ball tge only concern I have is that some of the balls so not stay in and come out quite frequently, one has already been lost. The smaller balls all have a sifferent fearure like one squeaks, one has points, one is like a bean bag. Ither than the fact that somehow the little balls dont stay in their holes very well.Best Deals for B. Ballyhoo Ball
We thought this toy would be perfect for our almost one year old who loves balls, and it seemed to have great reviews. We were very disappointed with it when it arrived, it is bigger and clunkier than we had pictured, the texture was pretty rough, and the smaller balls either fell out and wouldn't stay in or were difficult for my son to get out. He didn't pay any mind to it all, neither did my three year old. For the price I found it to be a very disappointing product. We are returning it.Honest reviews on B. Ballyhoo Ball
In the description it says "each small ball does something different". They don't, they just feel different. The pink spiky one doesn't even fit in to the big ball, and only one of them bounces. Expensive and not worth it.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for B. Ballyhoo Ball

Velvet Dabka Diary Review
This is an absolutely gorgeous keepsake for a diary, journal or ledger for parties and events. It would make a perfect gift or treat for yourself. As pictured, it has high quality garnet velvet adorned with gold thread and some beading. If it ever becomes available again it is worth the small price much lovelier than what you might find in stores. Service from the vendor was remarkable.

I couldn't be more pleased with my purchase, this camera has exceeded all of my expectations and at a VERY attractive price. IT Guy thought it to be a "little pricy for a webcam" but I discussed that in my comment to his review. Basically, it is way more than a mere webcam. The camera and the software (very sophisticated) are tailored to use in microscopy.
In interest of full disclosure, I use mine strictly for still shots, so any issues concerning its video capabilities are beyond my scope of use.
The SW ran well on my previous computer (a 5 year old Dell D620) and runs fine on my new (albeit pretty powerful) new computer. (Again, I'm doing still shots, not videos.)
This particular camera (AmScope's MU series)is manufactured by ToupTek (their MA series is made by Tucsen). I selected the 3MP version (MU300) because it had the most light sensitivity of ToupTek's line. The lab across the hall has the 8MP version of the same camera which is a great camera also. However, the 8MP version was getting close to running out of steam at very low-light darkfield conditions. That is why I selected the MU300 to have more light sensitivity. (Either camera is far more sensitive to light than the human eye so even the 8MP version can see in much darker conditions than you can see.)
Perhaps Amscope people will hear this and get a Forum going so users can help each other.
This unit provides high quality stills and video. The quality and presentation is first rate with exceptionally good resolution.
I have also used this for video collection which I found exception when I prepare videos for histology presentations,
The software is generally quite good and my only concern is that the software sets off warnings in Windows 7.
This is definitely one of the easiest and best I have used side from my Pentax. My only concern would be proper color capture since I will analyze pigment diffusion and need some reasonable color standard.

As a retired biology teacher, I wish these cameras were around a few years ago. The AmScope 3 MP is so compact that I keep it permanently in one of the eye tubes of my binocular scope and use only one eyepiece for direct viewing. The camera is good at real-time scanning of a slide with no lag or jerkiness and I find myself looking at my computer screen more than through the microscope itself. The software is adequate, but some of the instructions are a little confusing. Other than that, I would highly recommend this camera.Best Deals for AmScope 3.0 MP USB2.0 Microscope Digital Camera + Software 3.0 MP
I installed a MU300 camera in the one eyepiece tube of an Olympus SZ microscope. This 1970ish microscope has a zoom of 0.7X to 4X with no eyepiece. The MV300 gives a magnification of approximately 20X to 114X on a 24 inch monitor running 1920 X 1200 resolution. The image was mirrored and that was easily corrected with the excellent software from AmScope. The software GUI allows control of the frame rate, picture resolution and many of the typical photo editing features such as contrast, hue, saturation, etc. This makes for a professional video microscope at a great price. NOT a toy! See my pictures above.Honest reviews on AmScope 3.0 MP USB2.0 Microscope Digital Camera + Software 3.0 MP

Review of Plan toys Melody Xylophone
Customer Ratings:
List Price: $37.99

As a chemical engineer and a parent, it is extremely important to me to balance product safety and responsible manufacturing. Furthermore, I want to invest in toys that will survive not only my daughter, but any other children or grandchildren that I may be blessed with. Few toys are more durable than wooden ones; fewer still foster an imagination. "Plan Toys" meet stringent US and international safety guidelines and are made from rubber trees that no longer yield latex. There is no deforestation involved, the manufacturing sites use green energy, and the company is socially responsible.
I bought this item for my one-year-old, and while I admit she's under the age range for this toy, she's fine using it under supervision. (Very determined fingers can pull off the metal keys, but these are easily pushed back into place with no harm done.) There is a version of this by the same company for her age group (Plan Toy Oval Xylophone), but it lacks the song sheets for when she's older. Regardless of which one you choose, this is great for starting kids out on "music" by teaching small ears that there are other sounds to be made than just banging on the wall.

Discount Fisher Price: Roll-Along Pals Turtle
My son is hard to buy toys for because his favorite objects are every day items, card board boxes, books and magazines, kitchen itemsthings that "adults" use. Which makes since for any baby because they need to learn about the world around them. I believe that this toy would be great for a more mellow baby that sits still long enough to explore the buttons and is not interested in how things mechanicly work (hinges, springs, sliding cabinets, turning over rugs). Cute toy but my boy doesn't have the patience for more than 30 seconds with it. I did give it high marks for durability as it has been dropped from the pack-n-play onto the floor for a variety of physics tests he likes to do.

We got my daughter this toy for Christmas when she was seven months old. I love the colors and the sounds, and like the educational value of the counting. Many singing toys can be annoying, and maybe I just have a high tolerance for noisy toys, but I don't mind this one at all. The tune is pretty catchy and not overly annoying, and I still feel this way after hearing it almost non-stop for a 10-hour car ride. My daughter continues to love this toy three months after Christmas, and continues to press the button that plays the full song. She seems to have learned which button plays the song and which count. I highly recommend this!Friday, September 5, 2014

Memory Review
I wanted to teach my preschooler the upper and lower case alphabet, and this was a great teaching tool! At first I put the uppercase letters on one side, and the lower case letters on the other side to make the game a little easier. Now we don't have to do that. The cards are all put down totally random. My 4 yr old now knows upper and lower case letters. Great product! Also, cards are very thick and sturdy. A great buy!

Only thing I don't like is the letter "K" has a cat on it so the means \you to say kitty but to me a Cat should not be on letter "K" except for that fun game for preschoolers.Best Deals for Memory

This memory game was purchased for use in our family home daycare setting. We own 5 other memory games by different makers, and this game is, by far, the most durable, and well constructed. The cards are set up to match upper-case with its lower-case letter. Upper and lower letters display the same picture, allowing younger children to match pictures and to have success, as well. Playing this game with your child, talking about the letters selected, the sound that it makes, etc., will speed up the learning to read process and make it fun at the same time. I love this product!Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Memory
A very good way to introduce the notion of upper and lower case letters, particularly since both modes are used to signify the same word and object (e.g.B, b: Bed, bed).
