My son enjoys this game quite a bit and I was impressed at the level of learning/understanding they have for some of the spanish language section. My son is really starting to notice some of the phrases and learn what they mean. We are currently playing the game on a non-motion system, so I can't attest to whether that portion is good, but the general layout of the game and content is fun, educational, and just what you would expect from a handy manny game.

We bought this for our daughter about a year ago, and everyone in the house plays with it, her older and younger brothers both, and that means ages 2-5. It's held up beautifully, nothing wrong with it and it's been dragged all over the house (and car), fought over, and wrestled with and it's still going just fine.

As a plus, the mouse pad can either sit on a peg connected to the right side for easy travel stability, but for our left handed daughter, you just move it off the peg and move it on over. This is a huge plus for this system.

I purchased this product for my daughter who is about to turn 2, and she already knows some of her letters! She loves it and packs it around with her everywhere!!! The only problem I had with it, and I guess it's not really not a "problem", probably just a parent thing!, but, even at it's lowest volume setting it's still pretty loud I don't know maybe it's just that monkey, oh that monkey! I like how it goes off by itself so the battery doesn't drain itself...very handy!!

I can't say enough good things about this little computer! I'm gonna be very honest... it took me a while to buy it because (and I hate to say it now) but I just thought the thing looked cheesy (cheap)... But man was I wrong! We've had it a while now and my daughter still plays with it for extended periods. It really is a GREAT toy! It is very educational and helps with hand eye coordination -via its mouse training applications. I only regret having waited so long to buy it -recommend for kids 3 and 4.

Other great features are: it's incredibly durable, you can switch mouse for use on either side and it has an automatic shutoff after about 3 minutes.

Only bad things about it are: it is loud even on lowest setting (as many reviewers have mentioned) and the screen is small (but I dare say there isn't one out there with a bigger screen for this price :-).

Seriously, if your child is 3 to 4 you won't regret buying it.

I bought this for my 3 1/2 year old daughter for Christmas 2008. I am homeschooling her and wanted a tool to help her recognize letters and numbers while having fun. So while she can't yet use many of the games I have to just rave that this is the best product that I've used that allows her to interact AND learn her numbers and letters. It also lets her pretend to be just like mommy while she "works on her computer".

Many people brought up the issue of the volume button and that isn't a problem for us. She knows it gets taken away if she pushes that button and that only Mommy can change the volume.

We use many other things to help with letter recognition but this is by far the most effective and just today we had a blast playing on the laptop!

This was purchased for a young teen's science project on the element Bismuth. There are only so many things you can say about Bismuth, so this was an interesting addition. It's possible to make your own Bismuth crystal but ordering one is easier. The crystal itself has interesting geometric formations and coloration (just as pictured) but it is not as lustrous as we expected. It has a dull metal finish and will not necessarily gleam or shine as a "crystal" typically does.

While this is recommended for ages 3-8, it was no challenege at all for my 5 year old and my 3 year old was able to figure everything out pretty simply within a matter of minutes. I would have expected it to be more of a challenge and a longer-lived item, but since it was so easy they haven't bothered with it much since the first day we got it.

My daughter just received the Wiggles guitar for her second birthday. Out of all her gifts this is by far her favorite. She loves to push the buttons over and over and dance to some of her favorite Wiggles songs.

I would have to agree that the voices do sound a bit muffled, I thought maybe mine just had low batteries. And I also agree that a volume control would've been nice, but it really isn't too loud. And my only other complaint would be that some of the buttons do seem to play the same sounds. Not a big deal but I think it would be more interesting if they were all different.

As far as the size and weight I think it's just fine for a toddler. In fact my daughter is very petite and has no problem taking this with her all around the house. It seems very durable as well. Another plus that toy manufacturers seem to look over on electronic toys is the on/off button. This toy actually has one which is great!! I don't know how many electronic toys my daughter has with no on/off switch that are constantly going off all the time in her toy box. So annoying!! Not a problem with this.

I read that someone didn't think this toy had any educational value. In my family we value music and this toy is full of it. Not to mention all the physical activity my daughter gets from dancing around with it.

So overall this is a fun little toy and well worth the money, especially if you have a big wiggles fan like I do!

If you have a Wiggles fan, this is a great toy. My son plays with it everyday and has for months now (on the original batteries!) He sings, dances and basically has a ball with it.

I think the sound quality is fine for what this is, although if you're expecting digital quality, you'll be disappointed.

This is a complete crowd pleaser. My boys are HUGE fans of the WIGGLES and they each receieved this guitar as a gift when they were about 3 years old and it's still on their Top 10 list of "favorite toys in the house"! It really has helped them (not that they really needed the help) to come out of their shells and take on a role of entertaining friends and family that come to visit. The guitars are very durable as I've seen them used in my household as a bat and weapon (yikes!) -nothing has broken yet! I bought this toy for my 15 month old son. He loves it. It's perfect size for his size. Music is kinda muffled and it only plays parts of there songs, but he doesn't mind. My little guy is four and hes very into Star Wars. We picked this up recently at a yard sale for a very reasonable price and I couldnt be happier. The graphics are old school. If you're looking for high quality HDish colors and sharpness, this isn't what your looking for and you'll be disappointed.

On an education value it's great! There's lots of games and levels to grow with! The voice overs are fantastic and sound like the characters in the Star Wars movies my kiddo is so fond of. It appears to have a place for an ac adapter which is a huge plus as well. I;m sure if you take it to your local electronics store you can get a compatible adapter. It looks like a pretty common size. The volume doesn't go very low, but it doesn't bother me and theres a "music" on/off button. Overall it's a great product and it's old school pixeled screen doesn't affect how much my child enjoys this at all.

Good dictionary. However, there are better ones (particularly Tabers). I have less physically attractive medical dictionaries with no color and a boring cover that seem to have the definitions I am looking for when Stedman's doesn't. Adequate dictionary but perhaps Taber's in a better value.

There are numerous volumes out there, so I asked my instructor which one she would recommend, and this is it. So, I ordered it and have since decided she was absolutely right. There are two many bonus features in this 2,300 page book to list them all, but they include symbols to help you create the proper medical terminology, terrific color photographs, illustrations and charts. I'm sure this book will be at my side throughout school and into my working career.

For the money, I wasn't expecting such a large toy. This turtle is roughly eight inches long from nose to tail and doesn't fit the scale of the rest of my Schleich, Safari, and PAPO figurines. That's not really a negative but whoever did the hand-painting did such a sloppy job I may be forced to return it. There are several smudges of white paint on the dark brown of the shell, and one of the lines separating the dark plates of the shell itself is so far off I think the painter must have sneezed or something and then didn't bother to fix it. The pattern of small brown scales on the head and legs does not go up to the body cavity like it shows in the photo and several times the painter simply swiped the entire area with brown paint to coat the entire surface. You can see brushstrokes and mistake after mistake. Maybe it was his first day on the job?

All in all, definitely not a quality item. I would only buy this in-stores or be prepared to send it back if they send you such a sloppy item.

my 7 year old has enjoyed discovering all the mysteries. it took her a few months to "solve" the mistery and earn a badge. she doesn't play it all day, so it took awhile. she loved trying to unlock the clues. I like the fact i can download her spelling words into the system. Note: Leapfrog is working on bugs with all the Didj products. With Nancy Drew, the system shuts off if you hit the help button. Leap said they fixed it, but just be aware they are still working out kinks in the entire new product. Enjoying all the games so far.

This Nancy Drew title was entertaining and engaging for our seven year old daughter. She enjoyed following the clues and enjoyed the integrated spelling challenges.

She played through the entire mystery in a bit over two hours. Our expectation was that there would be significantly more content. Considering that there is only a single mystery, there's not much replay value.

Summary: interesting age appropriate content but suffers from having only a couple of hours of content with little replay value. We've had significantly greater success with many Leapster titles which have tens of hours of content per title. Hopefully some of the other Didj titles will do better in this respect...

I do not believe in hand held games or video games for children. My mother is the one who went against my wishes and purchased this for my daughter Christmas 2008, that's right 2008. Knowing my feeling on this subject my mother came armed with newspaper articles, e-articles, and an educational magazine. Due to my stubbornness it was an entire year before I loaded the software on my computer. With that being said I am glad my mother purchased this for my daughter (age 8) as I never would. Didj is not a hand held game or video game, it is an awesome educational tool. I love it! The Didj includes a feature on its "Leapfrog Connect" in which I can upload her spelling words and choose her math facts and language arts skills by grade and then again by specific skills. In order to continue to the next level she must answer a series of educational questions, this motivates her because she earns micromods. Micromods are equivalent to money/tokens in which she downloads "extras" for each game. For example, she has downloaded a pet for Sonic and a new computer for Nancy Drew and a Karate move for Spongebob. I have purchased another six educational tools; Nancy Drew, Nicktoons, Neopets, Tinkerbell, Super Chicks, High School Musical and a free download from Leapfrog Jet Pack Heroes. I can't seem to say enough about this valuable educational tool. My daughter is studying her math facts and spelling words without me telling her "It's time to study".
