My son has sensory processing disorder, and his occupational therapist provided us with one brush for his brushing therapy. I love the handle because it makes it easier for an adult to handle the small brush.

This is a specific handle for the related sensory brush. It is designed for people, mostly children, who have sensory integration issues.

The handle snaps on snugly, and can be used over time on multiple brushes. I wish there was a choice of color, unfortunately you get what they send. Overall this was a helpful purchase. If you are planning on ordering the related sensory brushes, it is a good idea to get a handle or two. It will make brushing easier.

This brush gets right down into the nail, cuticle and hand creases for really clean hands. The "sold separately" clip on grip is a must.

Honest reviews on Handle for Sensory Brush

Fits tightly and secure, but not so tight that it cant be removed. Just the right size for most hands.

Magnetic Adventure Stories Match-Up Barrier Game - Super Duper Educational Learning Toy for Kids
Customer Ratings: 5 stars

This is an amazing product for teaching kids to follow directions, storytelling and so much more. First off the barrier is a plastic stand that allows you to put one of the five different game boards on each side. From there kids can either be creative with the pieces or you can give them directions on where to put them, such as "Put the XXX on top of the XXX." My boys are terrible at following directions and I have been having them each work on a side to see who can get everything right. There is competition between them to see who can follow the directions the best and they think its silly! My 2 year old loves to just put the pieces all over but I will be working with her on it. There are a total of 100 magnetic pieces which you can mix and match! When they are all done, everything fits inside the bag which I absolutely love! The barrier even comes with a bigger bag to fit both the barrier and the game boards with pieces.

Besides using the game boards, kids can also use the MagneTalk Barrier as a dry erase tabletop easel or just magnetic board in general. For the price of $90 for the Barrier and the Match-up Adventures Kit is a great deal and the possibilities are endless for kids! My kids (6, 5, and 2) have done so much with it already and I know they have only scratched the surface with activities. Since its a tabletop easel you can even use it for practicing homework with the dry erase board and a marker!

I received this product to review in exchange for sharing my honest opinion.

My son likes this toy quite a bit. A little young to appreciate everything about it at 10 months, he nonetheless likes the music, bright colors, and spinning motion, which he is able to activate whether he intends to or not. He also likes to knock it over and bang it on the floor, and it's sturdy enough to take the punishment. Based on these things alone I would give it five stars, but I wish the sound was better. The digital voice isn't crystal clear, and sounds a bit like Shelly Marsh from South Park (only more personable). My wife and I initially struggled for a few minutes to understand everything it was singing. Perhaps this is only a flaw with the one we have. Still, when ours says "the octopus is pink" and so forth it's clear enough, and I still recommend it. It's a cute toy.

A minor criticism applicable to almost every child's toy or garment featuring a decapod: I don't know whether there actually are pink octopuses or bright yellow starfish, but where we live the image of a red crab or lobster on a toy is slightly disturbing, as around here it indicates that the poor creature is deceased and ready to be doused in Old Bay seasoning. Our crabs are blue, and one could be forgiven for calling them brown or green or a few other less-enjoyable colors. Now, given the cute smile on this red crab, it's obviously one of those Christmas Island red crabs and very much alive (or else it died very happy). Christmas Island crabs seem to be the favorites when it comes to childrens' toys and clothing, along with those happy tropical red lobsters. But once, just once, it would be nice to see a toy where the crab is blue, brown, green, etc.

A very entertaining and keep your child busy toy. Imagination user too! Different settings give a variety of play time

Honestly, we picked this toy up at a garage sale, but couldn't be happier. We are the second owners and everything works great! We also own the Chicco DJ Guitar (which we purchased new). The Baby Genius Tempo's Rockin Guitar seems to have a load more fun value. The strings are durable, and play parts of the music when strummed. My son loves to hold his guitar just like the "real thing" giving us our own rock n' roll shows in the living room! The music on this one also seems to be more like an electric guitar than the Chicco model.

There are also three different volumes, a big hit with mom!

If your kids watch the big kids play rock band or real guitars, then it would be a good bet they would love this toy! I would buy it again!

You need a child with strong arm to knock those musical knobs hard enough to make a sound. The middle, yellow knob, hardly plays misic when I pound it..one thing I don't like is that the whole thing easilygets knocked down, for a child on the younger side, 13 months, he barelyleans on it and down it goes.

Replogle Globes Northwoods Globe, 12-Inch, Bronze Metallic Reviews

Replogle Globes Northwoods Globe, 12-Inch, Bronze Metallic
Customer Ratings: 4 stars

the globe is beautiful, especially for being so relatively inexpensive. despite the fact that it's basically the same as a classroom globe, the antique colors and classic stand make this one a real treat to have. the writing is big enough to see country, capitol and city names, and boundaries are up to date. i get compliments on it all the time!

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

The product is light and has a VERY cheap feel to it. I guess I was expecting more from a $52 globe... I was expecting more "heft", and I guess I didn't read the description (it probably said "plastic" and "air" in there somewhere). I was focusing more on the fact that the description included the words "bronze" and "metallic". I fooled myself with wishful thinking.

That said, it is more than adequate for my needs: I bought it more for looks and decor than real function (my daughter has her own educational/classroom globe). The mountain ranges are slightly raised, which is a nice touch. I'll probably end up gluing it to the desk though, since it's so lightweight that it'll be easily knocked-over. Shouldn't the BASE at least be properly weighted, for stability? I mean, sheesh...

I guess if one wants a "real" globe, one must be prepared to shell out a few hundred bucks at least.

Best Deals for Replogle Globes Northwoods Globe, 12-Inch, Bronze Metallic

A beautiful globe for a good price. I bought this for my husband for Christmas and it was a hit. Plus, it looks very nice on the top of our bookcase!

Honest reviews on Replogle Globes Northwoods Globe, 12-Inch, Bronze Metallic

It works fine and answers all my "globe needing" questions, but I wish it were better quality. Not everything lines up and it just feels cheap. If I had it to do over again I would hold out for something a little bigger and better made rather than worrying about aesthetics... but it does look pretty.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Replogle Globes Northwoods Globe, 12-Inch, Bronze Metallic

I looked all over for a more manly globe to give as a gift to a male, this one was perfect! The colors are rich and beautiful. The base was my only disappointment.. It's a laminated wood that scratches easily and can't be engraved on. I ended up just adding a gold plate with the engravement. This globe looks awesome in his office and made a great gift.

Cheap Magnetic Poetry Kids Story Maker

Magnetic Poetry Kids Story Maker
Customer Ratings: 4.5 stars

I work with four kindergarten classes each day, and one of the teachers has Magnetic Poetry Kids Story Maker magnets on a file cabinet in her room where they are accessible to all of her students. These magnets make it enjoyable for the students to create thoughts, poetry, messages and short stories. I love to begin a poem before I leave the class and see how the students will complete it. I enjoyed using the story-starter magnets so much, I bought myself a set and combined it with the Poets magnet set. I am able to use these magnets in grades K-6 to encourage students to write and I use them frequently to challenge myself to extend my own writing.

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

I'm really disappointed in this product.

The tense of the verbs conflicts with the rest of the sentence structure.

They should use a similar idea as their "In Other Words" collection where you can flip the magnet over... and the tense of the verb changes to match the subject case.

Great conceptual idea, but the finished product is junk.

Back to the drawing board guys!

Best Deals for Magnetic Poetry Kids Story Maker

My son enjoys making crazy sentences with this toy. The different colors make it easy to help him get all the parts of the sentence. I marked less durable because the magnets could be easily snapped in half by a younger child. For an older child it would last for quite a while.

Honest reviews on Magnetic Poetry Kids Story Maker

We have a boy in 2nd grade and a boy in Kindergarten so we bought this set thinking that it would be a good way to help them with sentence creation. They were very excited at first, but like most things the interest waned after awhile. The main problem is that even though the phrases are helpful for making sentences, they also tend to limit creativity a bit. For our son in kindergarten the words are a bit too advanced, but we knew that. However, using colors for the different types grammar is super helpful and a great idea and really helpful! The quality is good, they have strong magnets and don't fall off the fridge even when the door is slammed. The only complaint that I have is that I wish the words weren't quite so tame and boring. I know it is for kids, but my boys are much more interested if they could make some sentences that sound gross or involve explosions, etc.

Review of VTech InnoTab 3 The Learning App Tablet, Blue

VTech InnoTab 3 The Learning App Tablet, Blue
Customer Ratings: 4.5 stars
Buy Now
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program On paper, this tablet looks pretty cool. It has a lot of features for not that much money, including a camera that can take pictures and videos. However, nothing really runs easily or with any speed at all. My daughter is nine, but intellectually delayed. She functions at about a 3 year old level. She is able to use her iPad with ease, and figures out how to do things with it instinctively. Despite a lot of time spent with this tablet, she didn't figure out any features on her own. A few times, she was catching on, but the steps needed to take a picture or go to a game confused her---there are lots of yes and no menus, lots of buttons to press, and everything is very slow. Most kids don't tolerate long loading screens that well.

We hitched the tablet to the internet with ease, and were able to use a VTech account we had made in the past for my daughter. This registered the product, and updated the tablet. We then tried the cassette that came with the tablet. It had three features. One was a game with a drop of water, which was "educational" in terms of the water changing states to ice at times and the game explaining that. It only worked with the D pad, which was confusing to today's touch pad generation! I can't see many kids really being engrossed by it. Another feature was a book, with 20 pages, about sounds. The book would be of interest to maybe a 2 or 3 year old, but I don't think most of them could figure out how to change the pages---it wasn't easily apparent, and we had to go back a menu to do it. The pages had limited interactivity. The third feature was a coloring book type app. You used the stylus to fill in sections of the picture different colors---not terribly creative. You could then shake the screen and the picture wobbled a bit. Not really a thriller, although probably some kids would play with it for a while.

A lot of the content was ads for other cassettes! When you went to watch a video you made, most of the videos listed were for other games you could buy.

The camera was okay---it took low res pictures, if you had enough light. I could see kids enjoying this, if they didn't have access to another camera.

The screen wasn't very responsive. You really needed to use the stylus---fingers didn't work well.

Overall---I'm just not sure what to say. Nothing was super bad about this tablet, but nothing was really that good, either. I supposed if you have a young child that badly wants a table, and you don't want to or can't get them an iPad, and they have a good tolerance for slow programs, and they aren't craving terribly exciting content---this might work. Otherwise, I'd look elsewhere.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Innotab vs. an ipod/Android device:

There are some kid-friendly android tablets out there for not much more than the innotab. Plus older generation iPod touch devices are not too much more expensive. Leapfrog, Disney, Nickelodeon and other big draws for kids make content for all these devices, so what's a parent to do?

Typically those apps are around $4-5 for iOS/Android. The Vtech games offer 3 modes in each cartridge (games, art and story), so in a way it's like getting 3 apps, which makes the prices much more comparable. Additionally, used kids clothing stores almost always have a ton of games very cheap and this is a great way to buy at a lower cost.

In my opinion, if your child is on the younger side (3-6), he might like the Vtech better if you're willing to buy into a few games. The educational content is much higher on Vtech than the free apps on iOS/Android, and with my tips above, it's probably cheaper on the real game/app content as well. The trade off is being locked in to Vtech, not being able to quickly stream content to the device, and lower specs on the hardware itself.

If you have older children, or if you want to watch a lot of video content (ie digital copies of movies, stream shows from things like the Disney Jr. app, etc) then the iOS/Android might be a better option. Also, if your kids are on the older side (7+), I'd see the days being numbered for how long they'd hold on to an Innotab before wanting that wider range of content.

My 5 year old likes the innotab, but usually reaches for a Kindle, iPod, etc first. However, he has older siblings so he's learning from them, too. I don't feel like the content on those devices is educational, but its fun. Therefore, it'll come down to your tolerance as a parent as to what they spend their screen time doing.

Overall Positives:

+Works with a large library of games.

+Games offer 3 modes on each cartridge game, art and storybook.

+Durable construction

+Low cost games using my tips above and considering the variety in content on each cartridge

Overall Negatives

-Compared to the Innotab 3s, which is only $30 more, it lacks rechargeable batteries and wifi. These might help bridge some of the gaps to an iOS/Android device, but I don't have the 3s to know for sure

-Screen scratches easily

-Must connect to computer for any progress updates and learning achievements to be visible online.

-No way to translate a cartridge purchase into a downloadable form of the content. It would be really nice to be able to transfer the game cartridge onto the internal storage so you don't have to carry multiple cartridges. Many games sold in cartridge form can be bought online (including here on Amazon as a redemption code) and downloaded to internal memory. The down side of this is that the license is linked to your Vtech account, so if you gave or sold the innotab to someone, they'd lose that content as soon as they sync it to their own account.

Best Deals for VTech InnoTab 3 The Learning App Tablet, Blue

A lot of kids play with their parents smart phones and tablets but not every place online is child friendly. That is why I'm excited about the VTech InnoTab 3 Learning App Tablet. It's made just for children and totally kid appropriate. Perfect for ages 3-9. The games, stories, and activities are educational. There's a built-in 180 degree camera for taking photos and making videos. It's also an e-reader and mp3 player! A large library of subjects include reading, math, social studies, science, creativity, problem solving. The InnoTab 3 Tablet is an awesome holiday gift or a great tool to supplement learning with back to school. (VTech provided me with a product sample but all thoughts and opinions are my own) http://simplesojourns.com/

Honest reviews on VTech InnoTab 3 The Learning App Tablet, Blue

Our VTech Innotab 3 is enjoyed by my 3.5 year old twins and our 9 year old son. The girls love to play with the music and the camera and taking fun pictures, while my son enjoys being challenged by games and apps. I appreciate how easy it is to reverse the camera.

The sound is crystal clear and does not sound like it is coming from the speaker of a toy. The controls are easy to use and intuitive, and the games are challenging enough (and educational) for my 9 year old, but still spark the interest of my little ones without frustrating them.

The Learning Lodge software that is needed to manage music and movies as well as download apps and games takes a long time to load and is a bit sluggish and less intuitive than the Innotab 3. If you are purchasing this as a gift for a child, I would suggest loading the batteries and hooking it up to the Learning Lodge before giving it as a gift, you will save hours of pestering.

As with many similar devices, I recommend rechargeable batteries or the battery pack accessory.

We have had this for about a month and it has stood up well to my kids. I like how there is a slot for the stylus on the back of the tablet. This helps my kids resist the urge to carry it around by the attached stylus.

The variety of apps and games for the Innotab is impressive, and there is a nice range of prices. The Learning Lodge does not have the clearest distinction for age ranges on the games and apps, so you will have to look carefully.

disclosure: I was given an Innotab 3 to facilitate my review. however, all opinions are my own.

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for VTech InnoTab 3 The Learning App Tablet, Blue

The InnoTab 3 comes with the tablet, 2 stylus pens, 1 stylus cord, 1 game cartridge, 1 USB cable, 1 Learning Lodge Installation CD-ROM and 4 AA batteries. Do you know what it is like when a new kids toy or technological device arrives in my house and 4 kids want to play with it at the same time? Well I'll tell you: utter and complete chaos! Which is just a testament to how much the enjoy playing with it.

One of the great things about VTech products is the Learning Lodge Software. It allows you to connect your devices to track and monitor your child's progress and also gives you a plethora of download to purchase. The Learning Lodge features more than 350 educational games, e-books, music and videos developed specifically for each child's unique stage of development and includes a broad library of subjects like reading, math, social studies, science, creativity, problem solving and so much more! Once you install Learning Lodge onto your computer and register your new device, you are given one free download. Your free download allows you to choose from a specific list of apps or eBooks. Apparently, I still had some free downloads left over from the last few VTech items I registered, so we were able to download a couple of educational apps onto our new InnoTab 3.

What Mom Liked

* The stylus cord is a life saver. I cannot tell you how many times we misplaced both InnoTab 2 stylus. One end of the cord attaches to the stylus while the other attached to the tablet. Now that little pen will never fall between my couch cushions again!

* The smaller design, compared to the InnoTab 2, makes it easier for tiny hands to hold. This means my 3 year old can get a good grip on it as he rips it out of the hands of one of his older brothers.

* There is really a great selection of apps to choose from. I was able to look for titles in specific categories (u.e. math, problem solving, etc.) to make sure I had a little bit of everything covered. In addition, there are also character themed games and eBooks that kids will love.

* I love that all of the games and apps are educational so you don't have to feel bad about them having a little screen time with their InnoTab.

* Great color on the screen.

* The 4 AA batteries that were included in the package were a nice touch and let you get stared right away.

What My Kids Liked

* The MP3 player. We love listening and singing along to the radio in the car and my boys love being able to have their favorite tunes accessible to them anytime.

* The camera. They love taking silly pictures of themselves and each other, and occasionally sneaking one of me, and then editing them

* The games, of course! Their favorite game happens to be the Switch & Go Dino one that I was able to download for free. They are definitely playing this the most.

What We Didn't Like

* While the smaller design is nice, I was disappointed to see that the screen also got smaller too. I would have rather they kept the overall size of the tablet larger to keep the screen the same.

* The battery life is short, especially when being used by multiple children. The InnoTab 3 takes 4 AA batteries and I find myself having to replace them pretty much every other day. If you are going to invest in this product, I also suggest you get the Rechargeable Power Pack which will save you a ton on batteries in the long run.

Overall, we are once again pleased with the latest VTech InnoTab learning tablet. I only wish I had more of them so I didn't have to listen to the constant bickering of who's turn it is to play.

I received a complimentary product in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

My 18 month old absolutely adores this piano! This piano is very well-made, very sturdy, does not topple over, stood up to my son's abuse (he is at the age that he thinks everything is a drum!). It compliments our living room deco, even though our living room is white. The little bench is an asset, it makes him want to sit down and play the piano longer. BEST THING ABOUT THIS PIANO BATTERY FREE! So though it's pricey to buy, you save on those expensive batteries replacement. It has very soothing (yeah, even with my son banging away), subtle keys, unlike some of those very annoying toys these days. It's one of his dad's favorite toy too!

Both our adult daughters are piano teachers and have found this toy an excellent choice for a toddler to "play" with.

Honest reviews on 25 Key Elite Spinet

The Schoenhut Elite Spinet was as expected/advertised. The piano was the hit of our grand daughters christmas. While she "plays" it constantly, we can't wait for her to get a little older (she is currently 2 1/2)to learn to play it better and to the music. Regardless, we are very happy with the purchase and relieved that you can still buy quality products that will hold up to vigorous play and will not go out of style or interest any time soon. We personally think this will spur our grand daughter on other musical interests not a bad thing.

The quality of this piece is poor.

(1) The look : cheap plywood with a sloppy application of lacquer. (Bare spots, the 5-layer ends (cross-section) of the plywood showing through, etc.)

(2) Of 25 keys, 2 did NOT work on arrival.

(3) The construction is 'loose' with boards not holding together particularly securely. The whole thing 'rattles'.

(4) It STINKS! The varnish smell is extremely strong. Strong enough to give me a beating headache. If I wasn't planning on returning the item, I would need to find a garage or similar to air it out for several weeks before it would be suitable for a home.

Despite the fact that this piece is marketed as 'Schoenhut, Quality Pianos since 1872', it is in fact made in China.

The sound is 'okay', but surprisingly weak for such a piece.

Update:

After contacting the company, they gave instructions about dismantling the piano to get the broken keys fixed. I did this, but it didn't work. So, they sent me a whole new piano. All the keys work, but it (the varnish) still *STINKS*, so I am upgrading my review by one star for good customer service.
