Ingenio Bilingual Smart Projector

Anyone looking for a great product with age versatility and high capacity to empower children's creativity needs to consider Ingenio's Bilingual Smart Projector. The educational aspect of this product is also extremely beneficial. My 8-year old does not gravitate to activities involving pencil & paper. With Ingenio's Smart Projector, I can now get her to concentrate for at least an hour. While creating and coloring pictures, sharpening bilingual skills and learning proper letter formation, she thinks she is just having fun. Now my biggest issue is trying to get my 3-year old to wait for her turn.

Right now my 4 year old is very much into writing his name and learning the alphabet while my 3 year old loves to draw in general. The Smart Play Smart Projector is an awesome product for both of them to enjoy for years to come. Setting up the Smart Projector was super easy and it is just the turn of a knob to turn it on and push of a button to change out the slides. There are four slides total that sit nicely in slots when not in use that feature animals, numbers and letters. There are also slots for crayons to store so you are always ready to start drawing! My 3 year old can turn it on/off by himself and put in the slides himself too, although I had to teach him to be careful. I cannot say enough good things about this product as I really think it is great for ages 3 and up and I probably would have loved it myself just to draw and trace the animals through 10 years old! It is so cool how the light shines down and projects the image you have the slide on so you can easily trace it. I remember using stencils or tracing images from underneath paper, but by projecting the image it makes it cleaner and easier to draw I think. This is also a product great for both boys and girls!

This toy worked as advertised and intrigued my 4 1/2 year old BUT it is so light weight it skids off the paper or desk. Child gets frustrated. I am going to try gluing on pieces of the non-skid material I use under rugs and hope it works.

I bought this for my grandson age 4. Other than the day he opened the gift, he hasn't touched it. He really can't use it without help. My wife majored in Chemistry and this is the best set she has ever seen. It is supposed to be one of the higher-end models, but it is much cheaper than the other brands that it is supposed to be compatible with.

We have a 5 year old son and we decided to get this set for his b-day. He LOVES it! It sticks together very well and doesn't fall apart when he drops it, but it is easy enough for him to pull apart and put away by himself. My wife said that she is a little jealous.

Definitely a good buy. 5 stars.

This is a nice resource for test prep. I really like that each story has a fiction and a nonfiction version. Each short story has a game or some other comprehension activity to go with it. The kids are really enjoying a break from the worksheet passages we had been doing, and like being able to come up to the white board to manipulate the activities.

Cheap Small World Creative Bouncing Balls

I chose 4 stars instead of 5 because the balls just didn't last very long. My grand daughter really wanted this for Christmas so of course, I obliged her. She told me she had a really good time making them and playing with them for awhile but then they began to fall apart. The price was really reasonable so I might buy them again just for the fun of it. Hopefully, they will be designed to last longer, eventually.

My 9-year-old son was awed by this clock when I gave it to him for a gift. His plan was to do a science experiment -to see how long the clock would keep time with various objects as the power source. Ignore what the previous reviewer said, too, as he must have had a defective version. My son's clock has been running on the same potatoes for almost 6 weeks now and isn't a minute behind his atomic clock. If you're looking for something not too expensive for a science-minded kid, this is a great idea.

I used it for a college presentation and it worked great, it doesnt keep real accurate time, I lost maybe a minute over a 24 hour period, but it could have been the potatoes. Also works with lots of other vegetables and fruits.

I always meant to buy this particular Carnegie model when I was younger, but never got around to it. Now it has sadly been discontinued, but I was fortunate enough to find it here on Amazon! It was more expensive than I remembered, but I suppose that's the price one must pay to buy a collectible item. I love the colors, and the figure itself is good and solid, perfect for the rough play I'm sure my children will put it through. I would highly recommend purchasing this figure if you can still find it anywhere!

Cheap AmScope 3.5X-45X LED Boom Stand Stereo Zoom Microscope + 5MP Camera

I purchased this item for inspecting electronics circuit boards, with surface mount components down to 0402 size. It arrived quickly, well packed in two cartons. Self assembly is straightforwards, but be careful not to let the lenses roll of the worksurface! The item is supplied with flat eye guards for spectacle users, not shaped ones.

The stand is very sturdy and even with the boom arm at its fullest extent, there's hardly any unwanted movement or shake as I operate the focus and zoom controls. Spacing between the workpiece and the objective lens leaves room for working and allows me to look at components close to the board that are surrounded by tall components (That's not possible with a loupe eyepiece). Operation of the zoom and focus controls is smooth with plenty of range on both. Brightness of image, clarity of image, depth of field and field of view are all comparable with other binocular microscopes I've used. The LED lighting ring works quite well, but its light is not completely diffused and as a result the shiny surface of solder joints give lots of bright points. I have not experimented with adding a diffuser to trade brightness for uniformity of lighting. The lighting ring came with a 12V adaptor for US 2 pin sockets, I've replaced that with one for the UK. The lighting ring has a dimmer control, very useful. To use the camera, the image for the left eye is changed over to the camera by a pull-rod. It took a few minutes to get used to the camera view being different to the stereo view. The camera itself works reasonably well, but automatic exposure takes a couple of seconds to adjust and that can be a disadvantage when panning across a workpiece with varying brightness levels. The camera can give a shimmering effect at times if the workpiece moves slightly. The software supplied with the camera works quite well and the ability to define the area used for exposure control is useful. Captured camera images are not as good as looking through the eyepieces, but perfectly adequate for illustrating PCB faults. I get the impression the depth of field is smaller through the camera, but that may just be an effect of monocular camera v binocular eyepieces. Overall I'm pleased with the item, very good value for money, solidly built and good quality images. I dropped one star because the camera isn't quite as good as I'd hoped. That might be unkind given the price.

Dora The Explorer Learning Adventure Laptop Review

I bought the dora laptop for my two daughters and they went wild with joy. They spent hours playing with it and it actually took them away from the TV set. I was not happy it ran on batteries but for the safety of the children this is obviously much better. It is durable has it has inevitably suffered a few falls without mishap. A bit expensive but I think it is worth it. It has different "games" they learn to use a mouse and above all my laptop got some peace.

I got the "Dora the Explorer Learning Adventure Laptop" for my 14 month old grandaughter, it is so cute, she is going to love it!!! I looked at all of the reviews and I decided on the Dora Laptop, it is a little more expensive, but it will hold her attention for hours and hours, She loves Dora & Boots!! I've used lots of different types of microscope lights professionally, but never an LED one until now.

First impression was how light and 'plasticy' it felt. Plugged it in for a test before fitting it to the microscope, a Bausch & Lomb SX4 with the 0.5X objective, to make sure it worked. Plugged it in, turned it on, looked to see how bright it would get and mistake. Don't look directly into it. No pain or damage, but it is pretty bright. Dims to fairly low. Time to try it out!

Put it on a ring light adapter we already had. The enclosed adapter WILL NOT fit this microscope since it has a 1.5" x 1/32" thread (from memory check your manual to be sure). I knew it wouldn't from the description and counted on the opening to be about right. The ring itself is a close fit to the adapter I had already. It feels like it will help stabilize the light in addition to the three screwed in holder. There are no 'rubber feet' on the screw ends to help them grab, so I'll see how it holds over time. Worse comes to worse, it would probably stay on with a rubber band wrapped around the adapter. It's that close a fit to the adapter.

The light from it is toward the bright end of what I'd like for a light. For a good amount of light for my work it's adjusted toward the dimmer end. That speaks well for it's potential longevity since the brighter and longer LEDs operate, the quicker they dim. They say in the description it's a 'cool' light, and it is. Much bluer a tint than my old fluorescent ring light. The light seems well distributed and I didn't notice any spotty reflections from all the individual LEDs like I expected I would. With the 0.5X objective the viewing distance is about 6", so if your microscope has a different range this observation may not apply.

I'll have to use it more to be sure, but for my purpose, examining electronic circuit boards, I think it'll be fine.

My daughter loves the Toy Story 3 e-book for her V.reader. She will watch the story and play the learning games for hours a day. The story is well told and follows the movie closely enough that she is familiar with it. The character animations are wonderfully done and offer a lot of extra fun to the experience.

The games are educational and varied enough to grow with her.

One of her favorite games plays a noise and asks her to touch the character that makes that noise, or says those words. This is a fun and age-appropriate game for her (not quite 3 years old).

Another game speaks a letter name and shows a word with that letter missing. It pronounces the word and asks her to hit the missing letter. If she doesn't get it right the first time, it shows the letter in a dimmer font so she can just match the shape. This game is PERFECT for learning letter shapes.

There are games on capital vs. lower-case letters, spelling, right and left, before and after, etc. that she will be able to grow into.

I really love the V.reader and this cartridge is my daughter's favorite. It is a wonderful learning tool. I hope she will always find learning as fun as she does reading her V.reader.

We bought our grandson a v.Reader two years ago along with all the games for his age. He is 5 now and has mastered every game we bought him. Now we have bought all the games for 5-7 years old for his Christmas. We look forward to watching him play with them. v.Reader is an excellent game and learning tool for young kids.

Great animated ebook but I'm a bit disappointed that they didn't give the kids an original story. The story is just chopped up bits and pieces of Toy Story 3. It would have been nice if they went the route that the Cars cartridge did and tell a unique story with some of the movie's cast. My 3 yr old (almost 4) son liked the Cars and Dora cartridge better than this one.
