Cheap Caillou Greenhouse
My almost 3 year old son is a big fan of Caillou, so he loved the toy and plays with it. But some of the pieces are so tiny, they end up scattered all over the place and it's hard to retrieve them. Also, the green house itself is not too sturdy, the hinges broke right away, but my husband was able to fix them so the toy still works... It might be a better toy for older kids that are more gentle on their toys, than for active boys with rough hands.Smaller pieces had to be removed before giving it to the Child but the product as a whole was well received by the child and she loves being able to do things with Caillou
LeapFrog LeapReader Learn to Read, Volume 4 (works with Tag) Review
i homeschool our 4 small children and this tag reading system is INVALUABLE!~ it is easy for my 5 and 3 year old, they love it. one pen holds alot!! i own 2 pens and have 4 "learn to read" SETS of books on 1 pen and on the other i have 2 maps, 2 games, 4 books, solar system, 3 activity books, and learn to write/draw. my girls love it and it really helps give the girls another "teacher" to teach them. LOVE IT!
For us we found using tools such as those suggested in the Read Aloud Handbook by Jim Trelease far better. My suggestion is to save the money you would spend on this and read aloud often then discuss what is read. We did this and it allows us to pick books with a variety of topics far richer in content than these stories. For some independent time (which is what I hoped the tag and these books would be) I play audio books and check out books with CD from the library which has worked great during play and quiet times.

I had high hopes for the Tag System and these books but the pen dragging feature needed to read these books resulted in choppy reading by the pen which my daughter was not fond of. There is an auto play option but that to me is not the point of this product and the books leave more story to be desired if it is going to just read the book on auto read.For us we found using tools such as those suggested in the Read Aloud Handbook by Jim Trelease far better. My son is not really a huge reader. He was having difficulties getting up to where his classmates were. These books plus the tag helped get him up to where his classmates were within a few short weeks.

Good objective test for my pts as I do homecare and all of my office is in my car. Can also be used as a fine motor activity vs just a test. Problem is in the hardware. The latch doesn't stay shut and pegs fall out. If tightened then can't open it,Great product, use it at work all the time. Great for studies and objective information. I bought this for my 7yr old and thus far, she likes it. We made a batch of slime and the "recipe" was on-target. It's nice to have a project to do and not have it sit around the house for awhile. I really love this bread board. Well built solid. Only complain hence 4 stars is the buses normally used for power and ground aren't color coded. Other then that great board.

My Son (age 6)loves hexbugs, and was very excited about the idea of making a two story structure. He wanted this set so much that he saved up his allowance for it. I am pleased to report that it is great fun, and he is already saving up for another set. We attached it to the Battle bridge set and nano habitat set, and created a huge set. The bugs can go up and down the ramp the way we set it up. Very cool, and very fun to watch!
Load up on those little button batteries -hex bugs eat them for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Pros:
-The spiral was lots of fun. It lets the bugs travel from one level to another and adds interest to the maze. It interfaced easily with the larger set.
-This set comes with stop/go gates which help control the flow of the bugs
-The setup is customizable. It can be moved around as desired. You could buy additional sets and they would work easily with each other.
Cons:
-Setup of the spiral required some fiddling to get it right
-Can't chose which color "bug" you get. This makes it harder to pick a range of colors (because kids don't want two of the same color).
Our first set was the Hexbug Nano Habitat Set and was played with a lot more than this set. I think the stacking of layers takes some of the visibility out of what the bugs are doing.
So a nice set but not as good as the first one we had. The plus is that you can combine sets since all the parts are interchangeable.

My 8 year old son loves this toy! He can play with it for hours and not get bored. The pieces are movable, so he can create his own shape with it and sometimes adds other items to the "maze" from around his bedroom. You can also purchase other elements to connect to this one. It is really fun watching the little hexbugs running around and trying to get them to go the way you want. Compared to a lot of other toys that my son has asked for, this one is reasonably priced and entertaining for a long time. He has had it for two months and goes back to it at least two or three times a week. It's really fun to watch the bugs bump into the walls until they find the spiral, then make their way to the next level. We like to mess with our bugs and keep the gates locked closed for a while, see if they can figure out what to do. For whatever reason, it doesn't seem to have the same appeal as the first set which had a lot more changeability and visual impact.Our first set was the Hexbug Nano Habitat Set and was played with a lot more than this set. We purchased this table several years ago and it has moved across the ocean -twice. It's still in very good shape.
It's the perfect height for our small children to sit and use (when they sit still, of course!) and the bucket in the middle is a great place to store the Legos. It's a bit hard for children to reach into the bucket to grab the blocks (they have to stand up to reach it), not a big issue.
Just tighten the bolts every couple of months on the chairs and table...!
One minor drawback: it's hard to use the table for other activities, especially those that involve writing, because of the Lego "platters" that are on the table surface. You can take them off, but there's a small hole in the middle of each section (so you can easily lift out the platters) which can still make writing activities difficult. You could probably cut a small, thin piece of plastic or wood to put in the holes -or just cover the entire surface with a flat surface -if you wanted to use it for writing.
All in all, a great little play table and very good quality.

Have two boys 4 and 6 and they absolutely love their LEGO table they got for Christmas. It came horribly packaged and several holes in the box. Several Pieces were damaged. Legos are not meant for small children I can't understand why this table and chairs would be so small? My 7 year old is too big for this table but my 5 year old loves it so I didn't send it back. The table itself is decent size and the the space for the legos is generous however the chairs are toddler size. Very overpriced. I've been buying childrens furniture for over a decade. Most require glue or replacement after some normal use. This set seems to be of a higher quality...perhaps made for a doctors waiting room etc. I was initially impressed when I saw it out for busy customer use in the Lego store at the mall. I bought this for my 3 and 7 year olds but even my 11 year old cant resist. Daily use for the last 2 weeks. Seems to be worth the money!
