Our daughter loves science and everything about the human body so the Visible Woman seemed like a great choice for a gift for her. I had one as a child and was facinated by the complex way people are put together. And the addition of a pregnancy option for the Visible Woman was an added bonus and something not available in the past. The educational value of this toy is exceptional, however it would be nice if they would have included the proper glue for the model. In order to put the head together, and other parts, glue is required, and if you do not have the right type of glue it just doesn't work since you can't just snap the parts together. We never got past the head since we had to stop to go to the store to look for glue, then the model was put on the back burner because we got busy with other things. Paint is optional and not as critical as the glue, so I didn't have a problem with paint not being included. I would have given the Visible Woman five stars if the glue was included.

I put this model together when I was 12, while my brothers did model cars. I found it fascinating, both glueing the pieces together and fitting them into their proper places in the body. Even today I still use the information I learned then. In fact, it started a lifelong interest in physical health.

For those who complained that what was inside the box didn't look like the cover that's because it's a kit, like a model car. It comes in bits and pieces that you put together each organ first, glueing and painting then you fit the organs into their right places, then close the body cavity and THEN it's supposed to look like the cover. Putting the pieces together was my favorite part when I was a kid. Later I did the same thing with the Visible Brain.

I had this product as a child and it was extremely educational to me. Here I am 30 years later and pruchasing it for my children. It is still a very educational and fun project especially for a parent/child team project.

Make sure you have good soldering skills before you attempt this project. The parts are very well laid out and adequately described. Enjoy it. Reception is not very good. But, for a cheap FM project, it gets all 5 stars

The Elenco FM Radio Kit is an excellent product. The instructions are precise and easy to follow, and the parts are clearly identified. In addition, the testing guide, which tests your progress half way through and then at the end of the assembly is also excellent. This is the way a digital electric kit should be. It is top of the line!

The unhappy label is from my first review and it has followed me ever since. I am not unhappy with this kit. This radio comes with instructions to set the audio amplifier at the Maximum level. Capacitor C21 does this. If you remove it from the circuit then the level is set at the lowest amplification and the radio works much better and without distortion. the tiny speaker cannot handle the higher setting so the radio will have too much distortion at the higher level. The instruction describe this modification,in the troubleshooting section, but it is not clear to the average builder. Remember DO NOT INSTALL C21 or remove it if you have already installed it.

With this one change the kit is a great build. Enjoy.

This is a great kit for beginners and they are fun to use. I took mine a bit further and made a wooden case in which it can be housed. I would say this is appropriate for children at least 10-12 years old because it takes some focus and a steady hand as well as a steady platform and safe work environment. It does require tools and supplies not included: needle nose pliers, side cutters, soldering iron (20W is perfect), and a small Philips (or reed and prince, if you call it that) screwdriver. But I also recommend safety glasses and well ventilated work area.

This is a good basic brain model and a fair price. These models are great for learning anatomy on, especially when covering such areas as the temporal corices and the folia of the cerebellum, areas that perplex grad and med students alike.

In my experience these models are fairly sturdy. I don't know how many times I've dropped a cerebellar hemisphere, on asphalt, linoleum, etc., and it has no scratches. This makes it great for a classroom environment where kids (primary school thru med school "kids" or students) are not always gentle with models.

Also, I'll add that if you are buying this as a gift for someone starting med school, studying in med school, or studying for med school, you might want to look at models with the skull and brain. Different med schools teach neuro differently, some with and some without the skull foramina requisite, but either way you're probably better off getting a comprehensive model they'll appreciate having the skull model at some point in med school, even if not for strictly neuro purposes. (Although it's of course highly relevant for brain injuries!)

Discount LeapFrog Fridge Wash & Go Magnetic Vehicle Set

I was so excited when I came across this toy. My 3 year old son loved the farm version of this toy when he was younger. I have 18 month old twins who also love the farm version, so when I saw this item I thought this would be a perfect addition to our refrigerator toy collection. It is educational and entertaining. However, Leapfrog changed the materials used and this "car wash" is not as sturdy as the farm we have from three years ago. The magnet isn't very strong so the toy slides down the refrigerator door. This frustrates my children since they enjoy working on the puzzle while standing. I now give the toy to them while they sit in their highchairs. They enjoy making matches and the vehicles are quite cute. Overall, I still like the toy since it encourages problem solving. The music is also cute and isn't too loud. From recent pictures I've seen of the farm, it looks to me as if it is different from the version I have so I am not sure that the problem I described is limited to this variation of the toy.

Got this toy for my son's 1st birthday. He has the farm version at his Nana's house and loves both toys! He carries them around, drops them frequently and pushes the buttons over and over... No problems. Neither one has slid down the fridge in the slightest and both take a beating and keep working great. I do like the voice on the farm version better but think the car wash one has more educational value since it says more information about each vehicle. Overall, I think it's great!

We have only had this toy for about a week, but have had no problems as in the other review. The toy has not slid down the fridge at all/no problems with the magnet. We, too, have the older version of the farm, and the newer versions of these toys ARE lighter and seem to be possibly less durable because of this. I guess time will tell on durability, but so far, this toy is exactly what I would expect (but I saw it in person, and knew it was lighter). I hope it holds up -my older versions of the LeapFrog fridge toys have been favorites, and have taken a beating, but still work fine.

We bought the Wash & Go Magnetic Vehicle Set for our son's first birthday. Owning the alphabet fridge magnets AND the barnyard set, we were excited to add the vehicles to our collection. The sound on this set is terrible, and the song about the bubble wash is not only annoying, it's just sort of dumb. I would not recommend this product to anyone; I would steer them to the alphabet or barnyard fridge magnets.

So we have the Fridge Farm, it's a good toy, our daughter loved, it, we thought we'd get this version for our son. He loves it, the thing is, the songs are annoying. The farm version sings songs like Old MacDonald and whatnot. The song that goes along with this one is a tad painful. Having said that, my son sure doesn't care, he cracks up every time he plays with it. So I'd say it's a solid buy, but if you were choosing between this and the farm, I'd get the farm.

These are really neat animal x-rays for kids or adults! There are 14 different animals and a picture of each to match. These work great when held up to the light, but really show up well when you put them against a window or on a light table. The instructions even say you can use them on an overhead projector for use in the classroom. There's also a scratch coating that's been applied to these, but they also suggest you get them laminated if you're going to have a lot of kids handle them. These are great for any child who's interested in zoology or becoming a veterinarian. The animals included cover mammals, reptiles, fish, birds, and amphibians. They are the: Common Marmoset, European Rabbit, Infant Kangaroo, Pumpkinseed Sunfish, Frontosa Cichild, Green Tree Python, Western Diamondback Rattlesnake, Box Turtle, Infant Green Iguana, Dwarf Crocodile Eggs, Veiled Chameleon, Red-Tailed Hawk, Turkey Vulture, and Leap Frog.

Purchased these switches for my Electrical Engineering courses... First day they arrived they were being used.

They seat very well on my newer breadboard. The older breadboard has bit of an issue where the switches must be pushed a little harder to seat; but this isn't the switch's fault. The prongs are prone to bending, wish they were longer and sturdier--but this is just typical stuff for small components.

They are dual in line switches, 2x ON/OFF per switch. They occupy 2x4 spaces on the breadboard.. Great way to bridge in the +V,-GRND terminals or strips across breadboard channels. It is what it is!

I purchased these along with microtivity's 60x LEDS w/ resistors. Great buy.
