I'm a Mom and bought these for my boys but I like them so much I sort of stole them. I followed the directions carefully. It's been two weeks since I put the eggs in and I just fed them the small scoop of food for the 2nd time. I used distilled water. I am only feeding them once a week the small scoop until they eat the food all at once, then I may increase. I have heard of people killing theirs by overfeeding and polluting the water. They are basically super cool brine shrimp but swim upside down and are actually eating the food now. I can see the food inside of them! The plastic tank they came in is fine very sturdy UNLIKE the cheaper plastic of another set that cost half as much from a superstore. I will recommend this if you have time to follow directions exactly.Best Deals for Schylling Sea Monkeys Magicquarium
I bought this and the sea monkey magic castle, and they have been going strong now for about two years. If you want your tank to last a long time do searches on the web for good tips. My first try all my sea monkeys died within a month, just after maturing. I was feeding them every 5 days instead of every two because I misunderstood some instructions on the web. I started over...got a few more supplies from the company (million bubble air pump, sea medic medicine, plasma III, cupid's arrow, water diamonds, red magic vitamins, etc.) and they have been going strong. Remember to aerate their tanks often and give them indirect sunlight (you don't want to cook them!). Temperature should be kept in the 70s...I had to just cross my fingers this winter! After a bit of good care the aquarium will begin to take care of itself. I rarely have to do much for the monkeys because they have enough algae to naturally aerate the tank and feed the masses. It's really neat. It just takes patience to get a good habitat going. I have actually had to leave them alone for a week before (who is going to come over to feed your sea monkeys!), and I actually left them on the windowsill! I came back and they were still alive. Also I am on my fourth generation now. Lats piece of advice...even if all your adults die DO NOT THROW OUT THE WATER! There are unhatched babies just waiting to be born. Aerate, put in plasma II, and wait!
