My daughter, who is 5, got a TAG reader over a year ago and seemed to lose interest in it quickly. However, now that she is in kindergarten and learning to read, I thought this might be a good time to reintroduce her to the TAG reader. And she LOVES it. She has had lots of fun with the book and tracing the letters, and loves matching the stickers included with the pages in the tracing books. Great item for a child learning their alphabet and how to read and write!

This set comes with one tag book (and 3 sticker sheets) to be used with the tag reader and 4 workbooks that use regular pen/pencil which is shown on the cover of the images of each of the books but may not be completely clear.

This set is great for older pre-school to kindergarten age children and the stickers which all produce sounds when you touch them with the tag reader. They can also be placed multiple times although only about 2 times before they start to rip and lose their adhesive.

Overall I think this is a set that will both entertain and teach pre-school to kindergarten age children and you get a good value in the set for the price.

the additional books were actual write-in books ( using a graphite/lead pencil) only one book is used with the Tag pen. But the songs and games keep my 4yr old happy for hours tracing his shapes and following directions. That's what i love it trains him early to follow audio instruction.

The one thing that didn't occur to me when I bought this is that the pen used by Tag is too large for a small child to hold as they should hold a pencil; therefore, it is awkward to use to teach proper letter formation.

We are big fans of Leapfrog products. My 7 year old is an avid reader and the tag pen really helped her get some supplemental assistance. We got our 3 year old one last year and she has loved everything about it. We received this title for her 4th birthday recently. The book itself is stellar as usual. I was more disappointed with the 3 workbooks included. I know she HAS TO WRITE with a pencil eventually but that's not what I thought I was paying for. I have paper and pencils already. The three workbooks are for pencil only and that was disappointing for the little one who wanted all of them to "talk". I think the stickers help but I would rather have had more practice sheets that worked with the tag pen for the price I paid. I have all the intentions of providing her with writing material myself. So for that I gave it only 4 stars. I should have read closer.
