The main problem with this guitar is that it doesn't hold its tune. I have to tune it every time we get it out, and I don't mean that I just have to tweak each string a little. I mean that it ends up so hideously out of tune just from sitting in the closet that even listening to my daughter just aimlessly strumming it is impossible.
I'm not a guitarist, though, I'm just someone who picks up the guitar occasionally and can strum a few chords and play an easy song or two. So I don't know if newer guitars need to be "broken in" ... maybe given some time the guitar will hold its tune better? Or maybe by suggesting such a thing I've just lost all credibility ... :-)
At any rate, I see that this instrument is now selling on Amazon for about twice what I paid for it. Given what I know now, there's no way I would pay $80 for this guitar. I know you can't expect a professional quality sound for $80, but I think you should at least be able to keep it in tune.
