I haven't had a microscope since I was 8-9 years old. When I overlooked a vault technician with a field scope for looking at intricate, small gear, I starting looking at scopes. Amscope has a huge collection of various scopes for every need. I bought a binocular stereo, and then this compound one. Both have provided me hours of entertainment.
The mechanical stage is a must, as well as a 3mp or higher camera. The pics are amazing! Prices are great, as the LED is cheaper than the halogen. But suits me just fine.
Both scopes came with plenty of accessories, lens, parts, covers. I wish they would do a better job of documentation and manuals, but their support provided links to good online manuals.
The software shipped with the cameras is very good, and has tons of photo manipulation features. Cameras even take video and time lapse captures.
Physically, the equipment seems sturdy and solid, no crappy plastic or cheap parts that would appear to break easily.
I am really having a blast using a laptop and the camera.
