My 2 year old loves the tag jr. system. This book has animal sounds and we took it with us to the local zoo and "compared" animals, which was super fun for her. I like this book for her age group. It keeps her interest and isn't too hard to understand which areas you should wand over. There are a couple others in this line that we bought that were far too complicated. You should consider that the tag jr. unit will only store so many books (depends on which books you choose and I think we have 9) so be prepared to either cap your selection of books at 5mb (i think I have that right and before you buy a book, you can connect your unit and it lists all the books they have and what each one requires) or buy another unit, or continually switch books by hooking up the unit or hiding books from your kid until you have uploaded/switched it. My daughter seems to keep finding the one book I can't fit onto the device and I have to keep telling her no, she can't also get the Thomas Tank book because we've used up all our storage but she loves this book. And with all the pros of the system, I still love it. It not only reads the words but if you wave over certain areas, there are sounds. Still thumbs up for me.

My daughter got this for her 3rd birthday. It has a song suitable for 2, 3, or 4, but it says "it's your birthday, and you're # years old today"... and her birthday was last month. She still plays with it, though, she's not that picky. One page has wolves howling the happy birthday song, which I find a bit grating after a while, but again, she doesn't mind. It's not her favorite Tag Jr. book, but mostly because she loves familiar characters more. This is not the most educational of the Tag Jr. books either.
Overall, it's fine, but you and/or your child might like other books better.

Got this for my 2 year old daughter who has a speech delay. I was hoping that it would help her recognize more objects as well as help her learn some new words. So far she is interested in the book(s)but is still her quiet ol self :) Which actually has nothing to do with the quality of the book :)Maybe over some more time I will be able to see if this product is really helpful in our situation. Overall, a great concept for smaller kids, durable books, and easy to take anywhere!

Have not given this to kiddo yet, but did set it up and this happened to be one of the books I tested it on. She will really enjoy it, but she's into something else at the moment and am waiting for that phase to be over to give it to her (next couple of weeks). We're going to a few zoos on our next travels and are near a zoo in Chicago plus it will soon be her second birthday so this will be perfect before the fact. Cute pics and non-scary animals too.
