Our daughter was exposed to these early; its her favorite DVD and she asks for signing time DVD's many times a day. She does get bored with the DVD's that she has saw upteen times but we contine to buy them and she loves the new ones as they arrive. In observing other kids I think they comprehend more than we give them credit for. We didn't use pacifiers with our daughter so I think the combination of Signing Time and not having a rubber nipple in her mouth when she wasn't eating is allowing our daughter is speak very well at the age of two. Some of her cousins and friends are not speaking nearly as well or nearly as many words; I think they comprehend much but are not able to articulate it. With basic ASL our baby is not frustrated because she can articulate what she wants or needs. According to brain experts, like the book Brain Rules for Babies, this sort of learning also helps her develop her brain well; we see it the benefits of signing time daily.

I like this better than baby Einstein even though I like baby Einstein also. My son likes both but this one has lots of fun songs and you can learn more signs with this one.

Our son has PDD, a form of Autism, and doesn't speak at all, so we had to start signing to reduce frustration and facilitate communications between us and him and the outside world, he LOVES these and he is quite particular about things he does or doesn't like, money was well spent and I have recommended this to any and all parents with children even if they aren't speech or developmentally delayed. My son is 2 and a half and knows many signs now, it has truly been a blessing, and we have only been using it for about a month or so.
