I bought this model for my clients to look at. If your not careful you could break the pieces putting it together since they fit so tight, it is plastic not rubber. I like it as a display and maybe a kid would like it, but it would probably get destroyed by a child.

I didn't realize that assembly required, the model is ok, don't like hard plastic prefer model made from softer rubber.

Very nice and probably a good learning tool for someone interested in anatomy. Definitely not a toy and package says for 8 and up. Small pieces attach/detach and could get lost or swallowed (hopefully not by an 8 year old, but maybe a sibling). Under "8+" it says "choking hazard" and "not for children under 3 years".

They made the stratum basale and the stratum spinosum one piece, which I thought was a little confusing if you're trying to learn the 5 epidermal layers (thick skin has 5, thin skin has 4).
