These games have been carefully designed so that the players "work together" to find solutions to a variety of non-violent situations. While competitive games can be good for children, it is also very important for these children to learn how to rely on each other. These games are top rated for this learning experience.Saturday, April 5, 2014
Discount Family Pastimes / Granny's House - An Award Winning Co-operative
As you walk to Granny's house through the woods, you encounter difficulties...a sleeping bear, a river, a forest. Along the way you gather various items and when you get to the difficulties, you have to figure out which item will help overcome the difficulty. You could stand on the box to get over the fence or use the umbrella in the sun. Our son came up with many creative solutions for which items to use (like having the dog dig under the fence.) The first time we played it. Each play afterwards he used the same items for the same reasons. There was no more creativity. So, if you want this to keep being creative, you have to make your own cards with different items. Also, this game can be really long. We make it go faster by starting out with more items. We really like other pasttime games like Cooperative Games / Snowstorm or Cooperative Game Harvest the Crops Before Winter Comes, Harvest Time
