The V.Smile Motion can be operated in either motion sensor or traditional joystick mode. We've have a little trouble with the motion sensor mode, but the joystick mode works just fine.
I've seen a few reviews that bash the graphics and rate the product as inferior as a result. Don't worry about the graphics. Most kids don't care! Graphics matter more to grown-ups. Kids care that the games are fun and engaging.
For the age group it was engineered to be for, this is a wonderful learning tool. Not only are letters, words, and numbers taught, spatial orientation is taught. Directions are taught. The stories are fun and engaging for a kid even as old as me.
Yeah, the graphics aren't great. They are comparable to original Nintendo 8-bit. Again, most kids won't care about that. It hasn't given us a moments trouble. The remotes have been bashed, crashed and moved all over the place. They don't show any sign of wear.
A great value for my crew.
