We've had these steps now for a couple years currently used by a 16-month-old and a 3-year-old to access the hall bathroom sink. The small panels shown bolted onto the sides at the bottom of the unit stick out too far and would hit the cabinet under the sink, but we just left them off and it works perfectly. I'm sure these are there to keep the unit from tipping forward in other situations, but in this case the entire unit is up against a cabinet, so there's no need for the feet.
The dimensions are perfect for the little ones, the grab handles are fantastic and all the corners are nicely rounded and smooth. The baltic birch plywood is hefty and durable this is a heavy-duty unit that will last through generations. While not intended to be portable, it will quickly break down and store under a bed or in the attic when waiting for the next generation :)

We have two little ones (3 and 1) at home with our 3rd on the way. As our youngest (21 months) is getting more independent, the small vanity at our bathroom sink can get a little crowded. We've been using a simple two step stool from Ikea, and it's getting a little more unsafe for the two of them even if one of us is right there with them. I thought the expense of this item was an extravagance. After receiving it, I can say hands down that it isn't. The title of the review is worth the wait because it did take almost 3 weeks to arrive. Just after placing the order, I received an email stating the items are custom made and it would be about two weeks for construction plus shipping time. They beat their own time estimate by several days and it arrived, ahead of schedule, fully assembled except for the stabilization feet. We don't have a toe kick space at the bottom of the cabinet, but the feet aren't necessary as the steps are against the vanity and couldn't tilt forward. Our children spent their time investigating and both fit very well at the same time without space issue (pushy elbows included). Our oldest come to me and said, "I like this better than the scary steps Momma, thank you." He had never mentioned the `scary steps' before, but in comparison, he felt much more secure on the Up-N-Down Steps. The hand holds are natural for the children, there is nonskid on the steps and it is very sturdy in its construction. It might not work in a very small bathroom, but works for us and my husband and I can still use the sink without the steps being too obtrusive. I anticipate that this will get many more years of use with the next one on the way. I have tried other stepping stools and sure they work, but i wanted something sturdy for my daycare kids to use to wash their hands, and for them to help out in the kitchen. I wanted something sturdy and safe and something that didnt take up to much room. I had previously bought a cheaper stool and the kids were falling and when bumped it would move and cause problems. I coughed up the money for this hoping for something way better then the others on the market and am so glad i did. My kids can use this, 2 at a time, and works great. These are great for my 18mo old. She slides the steps up to the sink to use for washing her hands after going potty, brushing her teeth before bed, or getting a drink of water!Very durable!! Perfect size too! I just wished that these steps came in different stains/colors. There were other stools with steps that had the shades we were interested in, but this one had the best reviews all over the internet. We haven't had any problems with it, and it's been half a year so far.
CONS: Surface scratches easily.
Worth the purchase.
