I purchased this for my 9 month old for Christmas and thought it was great, because it incorporated more than one sport. For a couple days he liked putting the basketball in the hoop and sometimes he'll play with the football rattle. In the picture it says it shows 2 basketballs, but it only comes with one. It's a great idea and it may appeal to another kid so I don't totally dislike it. I know it is probably for someone older than 9 months old, but my 9 month old can tower over it, so by the the time he might even be able to understand and know how to hit the ball with the bat, I think he would be too big for it! The sounds are awesome and counts up to 10 when you keep putting the basketball in the hoop.

My 10 month old son was given this toy as a Christmas present and he loves it. The listed recommended age is much older than I would have thought. I think 1 year is the perfect age, my son is now understanding how to put the basketballs (it comes with 2) in the hoop. He likes to spin the football for the rattle sound, but the basketball hoop holds most of his interest. It counts how many times the ball goes through the basket up to 10 and makes cheering sounds. The baseball and bat seem to be a bit too advanced for him at this point in time, but I think it is wonderful to have a toy that he can grow with instead of quickly losing interest in.I will warn you, it is smaller than you would think. My 10 month old pulls himself up on it and he is taller than the toy. However, that doesn't seem to bother him, I think he enjoys that actually. Older kids have come over to the house to play with it and it seems to be a crowd pleaser. This is a perfect 1st birthday gift.
