My 6 yr old is truly in love with this toy. I bought it about a month ago and he's glued to it. It's equally fun and education which is my main concerning when purchasing this type of product. Leapfrog even informs you via email of your child's progress. The emails contain how many answers were asked and how many were correctly answers and which skill level the child has excelled to. My friend's son has a Nintendo DS and he loves my son's Didj more than his DS. Make sure you purchase the charger, the game runs through batteries rapidly.

My son loves his didj! He got it last Xmas. His favorate cartridge is Sonic but he also loves Didji Racing. After I began uploading his spelling words onto his didj, he consistantly made 100's on his spelling tests. Overall he pulled straight A's and tested into the gifted program. Impressive I think, considering he is ADHD and finds traditional studying difficult and tedious. I do think the Didj helped with his achievements.

I'm very happy with our purchase. So far it has been more durable than the V-smile systems we bought previously. I plan to buy one for my 5 year old next year.

The didj is fairly easy to set up and customise to your child's level. I (mom) wish it incorporated a few more educational problems throughout the game... and there is even a way to "jump over" some of the educational problems and skip them altogether. But my kids from age 5 to 12 all love it!

I read the reviews before buying, but thought, hey, I can figure it out..MISTAKE! I spent 4 1/2 hours on the phone with customer service and the software kinks can't be worked out. Initially, I though my son could play and we just wouldn't use the online part, BUT IT FORCES YOU TO UPLOAD because the memory gets full after a few hours of play. On my third call to customer service, I was hung up on. What a waste of money.. we bought 5 games, a cover and skins, all of which cannot be used. Customer Service is NOT a help, it is scripted and they have NO idea what they are doing. I doubt they've even touched a didj. Four calls and a supervisor later nothing was resolved.

Sadly, my son LOVED playing the games before we had a forced "tune up". I wish they had just made more advanced leapster software.. we loved our old leapster..
