You can damper it if you need it softer and producing a different kind of sound by simply placing one hand on the drum. It is a great drum that two or three can use at the same time.

We our saving it for the christmas present so we will write more later but we wanted to say this picture does not do it justice! This thing is HUGE, maybe you should show the picture with a kid on top to show how durable and how big this really is! What a great deal too! Excellent drum for any little drummer in your life. My son has the entire series of drums, this one has a great low sound. Comes with mallets and makes a variety of sounds based on where you hit it. Remo drums have great sound and are extremely well made. My 5 year old grandson has 3 of them including this large gathering drum. It is fantastic to see several kids play together and synchronize their beats. It can be played with either mallets or hands to produce beautiful music.No problem with the ordering or delivery.
