My 4-year-old loves these cards. They are a fun way to practice letters. You need to buy the dog-shaped Hot Dots pen separately, but the pen can be used with all of the different Hot Dots card sets.

I was hoping the technology pen in this set would pronounce the letters as my son touched them. However, it only makes a noise either "good" or "try again" or other things along those lines. I bought this set and the beginning phonics set. On each card a parent must read the directions to the child of what is expected on the card. I was hoping for more independent learning. I would rate these cards at a kindergarten or first grade level. Personally, since they don't actually help the child sound out letters I found them a waste of money.Best Deals for Educational Insights Hot Dots Jr. Cards - The Alphabet (2351)
4 year old daughter in preschool program has had the hardest time learning her letters. We have the Dr. Seuss book, alphabet stickers on the wall, Sesame Street app,
we watch sesame street on tv, and we have tried working with her and we tried
an eraser board and we meet with zero success getting her to remember her letters.
She would even forget the letter a few minutes after working on it. We were really
starting to get worried, then her nana got her these and we do them every day.
She loved them from day one, She loved the purple kitty and could not wait to try it out.
She has used it everyday since and still enjoys it greatly. Now we can show her words all
over the place and she can tell us what each letter is from A Z. Before these cards the
only one she could remember was A. We are very thrilled and thankful for these flash cards
and the purple kitty.
