There are a lot of larger kits that have parts that interchange with this one.My 7 year old really enjoys this kit. I'll probably graduate him to more advanced electronic kits soon, but this one was a great introduction that let him experiment and follow instructions to build items that were interesting to him.

The boys really like playing with this, much more than I expected. They built several projects and then had a competition to see who could get the fan the highest without hitting the ceiling. I paid 10$ for it. For 10$ it is not bad. My daughter loves experimenting with it. The booklet has many diagrams to build and what should happen (e.g. the light will light up). What it is lacking is any type of explanation of the circuits, which is unfortunate. Some components are 'black box' components. For example, I have no idea how the FM radio component works, or the multi-colored flashing LED thing.Durability: the spinning fan thing gets damaged easily.
The box says 'aution' instead of 'caution' which is kind of humorous.
But the kido loves it, so it's not half bad.
