These are great for preschool or kindergarten-age children. They are small and have a carrying handle and can be easily opened and closed. I especially like them because they have airholes. It is important to me to teach the children to be humane and not kill the bugs, but study them and then let them go. I looked at some other bug jars and there were no airholes. The magnifying glasses on these work good as well. I'm very pleased with them and the 5 year olds I bought them for are happy with them.

This bug holder is just like an index card holder. The lid snaps shut, and was difficult at first for my 2 1/2 year old. But he figured it out after a couple days and now has no problem opening and closing it. The bug has to be in just the right place in the container to really see it well with the bugnoculars, but since it is small, it is easy to see the bug from all sides. We've caught lots of bugs and it has become my child's must-have accessory when roaming the back yard.

The Bugnoculars were a great idea for my turning-two grandson. We caught a bug for him right away, and he understood immediately that he could look at it through the clear plastic case or down through the bugnoculars. So glad I found this!
