I love this journal! It's a perfect gift for someone who loves to travel and I appreciate that it is made from recycled, cruelty free material. The only complaint I have is that once you open the journal and write in it it is hard to close. The insert slides out and because its cover is so thin it is difficult to get back into the leather sleeve.

This journal is really pretty, but strange size, not 5x7 as stated. I am sure it will be tough to find inserts. i also thought it had lined pages, but that was my mistake.

This journal is a little thicker than I thought, at a full 1" across. The leather dye has transferred onto the end pages, which looks a little grubby. The paper is unusual, even though I knew it was made of reclaimed cotton fibers. The screen pattern is obvious, so the texture is a bit like a crisp paper towel. However, it works well for mechanical pencil, ballpoint and gel pens, and colored pencils. It does not erase well AT ALL, though, and there is some show-through with felt tip pens. Watercolor pencils show through, too, but look good, and adding small drops of water did not rumple the page.

I'm happy with my purchase. It came really quickly, looks nice, and even came with a free decorated pen. The paper in it seems nice and the leather it's classy looking. For the price, this it's a great item.
