I'm way outside the intended demographic for this product, but it has met a real need that I searched high and low to fill. I practice piano a lot, and one of the key elements of my practice is repeating the same passages over and over again until I perfect them. An abacus-type instrument is perfect for this kind of counting, but I really didn't want a full abacus on my piano I only needed two rows of beads. This fit the bill perfectly I could detach two of the rows, put them on my piano, and use them to count away.

This is an excellent abacus. It helped my son, who was delayed in his studies, understand how to count to 100. It is also helped him with learning addition. We can only focus on one set of 10 for the addition (his addition problems are within 10), and that is exactly what he needs. We have had the abacus for 6 months now and it gets regular use. Shipper was prompt. Please note that the product when stacked up to 10 rods, needs to be held with one hand.

Just got this for the grand kids to help them learn there math without using there fingers to add and subtract, from the first time they used it they where very thankful. It works just as they say it would and is sturdy and well built. Great that it can be taken apart in rows off 10 , 20 , 30 up to 100. less confusing for the very beginners.
Honest reviews on Playme Counting Beads
I am a piano teacher and I give these to my students in increments so that they practice their songs 10, 20 or 30 times a week depending on their age and level. I love that they come in single rows so that I can divide them up between my students.

A while ago I was looking for mini-abacus consisting of two rows of the beads which would be less confusing for 3-4 year old to use. This is it! My son is using this for now for building fences, but I am sure he will get to counting as well. I can see this as very useful learning material for a family with multiple children. Product is made in Taiwan. Quality is very good. Wood and the connections are good quality and the paint (looks more like a stain which is good because it will not chip) is good quality. There was no smell of paint upon opening of the box (as I have noticed with some other painted wood toys. The The individual rods sit one on the other, but they are not tightly connected. Overall, pricy, but very good quality, educational, fun toy/learning material. Creative toy!
