I got two of these and put them together with my 8 year old and six year old. They had fun doing it and only needed a little help when it came to the wiring. They loved racing them with each other and have enjoyed showing their friends the cars they built.

This is a pretty basic fun toy. When I asked my son (5 yrs)his opinion about it for this review he said he really liked it, but currently didn't know where it was. With my limited assistance he was able to assemble it as it just screws together. The following are my observations. It is not the most durable toy as the rails are easily bent; for that matter they are easily straightened but you never get them back quite right. Works best on a hard floor doesn't like rugs. Eats batteries fairly fast(two batteries AAA) with continuous play because of that its hard to see how it could be part of a 'green' science project as the advert suggests. Interestingly my son took off the supplied propeller and tried other propellers off other toys. Amazingly enough they fit the shaft, probably because they all were connected to similar type motors. All were smaller in diameter and didn't drive it very fast. One was a propeller off a cheap toy fan which had LEDs that lit up when it rotated, but again not large enough in diameter with its small rubber blades to get it going very fast. In spite of the slow speed having the LEDS made it the most fun for him, running it down the hall in the dark. Playing with the different size blades was probably the most educational part of the toy for him. Too bad they don't supply alternate propellers with it. Price was very reasonable $12-$13 as I remember. Should package two together for racing.
