My family has had a great time with this game. It's super simple. Just spread the round cards all over a big table (or the floor!) and give each person the same number of square cards. When you say "Go!" everyone frantically tries to match their square cards to the round ones. There's plenty of running into one another and squealing about not being able to find an image until on player plays the last card and yells "Bug Out!". Works great for all ages~~

This is a great game that you can play to the level of the competition if playing with small children. They love finding the bug characters and covering them up. We play it on the floor with young kids and they loved it. Adults who are playing against one another can intensify the competition by playing faster.A game that even preschoolers can learn and play, But Out is a great game. The cute bug characters make it even more enjoyable.

Bug Out is great for the whole family, but especially fun for the younger kids! We like to spread the cards all over the living room floor so it almost becomes Twister like in the running, bumping-into-each other and laughing! I was surprised by how little there is to this game. This game is made up of one small box of cards. There are 36 round cards and 36 square cards that are about 2" x 2". The cards are thin, not even as thick as card stock, with a gloss finish. The cards do have fun pictures of animated bugs that jazz up the game nicely. The round cards have the same animated bug on both sides. The square cards have matching animated bugs on one side and a leaf on the back side that says "Bug Out".The game is really just a matching game. You lay out the set of round pictures on the table and then deal out the 36 square cards to the players. You can't look at the square stack of cards given you. You wait until the dear says "Go" and then all the players begin racing to flip over their leaf cards one at a time and placing them on a matching round card with the "Bug Out" facing up (so the bug is now hidden under the leaf). The winner is the first person to get rid of all their leaf cards.
I buy childrens games based on my replay-ability. There are some games (like Sorry or Parcheesi) that are so mind numbingly boring I just can't play them more than once a year if that. This game has fun interaction and while it doesn't demand much thinking there is a bit of a challenge to it. Plus you are on equal footing with your child so he/she has as much chance to win as you do. (Unless you are terribly competitive and you use your arm length to your advantage. Shame on you if that is the case.)
The game adds a nice twist in suggesting you can also play the game on the floor. You spread out the round disks and run to place your square card on the top. I bought this game for my cub scout Wolf den and they are going to love that version. Sadly the quality of the cards concerns me and I don't think it will be a game that lasts a long time. For ten dollars and so few cards they should have been thick tiles instead of almost paper. You could make this game yourself for less using card stock but the animation is cute and I guess I would spend the ten dollars rather than hassle with making my own. Still the quality & content was disappointing.
