This grit pack has the four main grits required for tumblers. The materials are good and packaged well, but anyone wanting to polish rocks on a regular basis would be better off buying materials from a metallurgical supply company or some other source in bulk. The price is just too high for anything but a once or twice project. There is nothing wrong with the material and the grits work very well, but I think they are overpriced. Of course, I think paying for bottled water is also a waste of money. For a one-time experiment, this pack will do, but they also sell a double quantity pack (#302) that is a better value, but still overpriced in my opinion.Wednesday, March 26, 2014
Cheap The Original Thumler's Tumbler Accessories Grit Pack #300
I picked up a tumbler second hand for a few bucks and bought this grit to give it a try. The grit works well and we ended up with some decent looking polished stones by following the simple instructions. I would point out though that there's not a huge amount of grit here. This is a great starter pack but if I was going to continue polishing stones in any quantity I would advise buying larger quantities of each grade from the same supplier rather than repeatedly buying this pack.
