I bought this prism to change the direction of one beam of a Bosch GTL2 laser tile layout tool. My thought was to set the laser in place then move the prism to get layout lines where I needed them. This would work only if the prism refracted the beam at exactly 90 degrees. That seemed unlikely but everything I read about right angle prisms said that is indeed what they do. So I bought one.
The prism arrived on time, was well packaged and in perfect condition. It appears to be well made. But just as I suspected right angle prisms do not refract the the incoming light 90 degrees. They refract the light at the incident angle just like a flat mirror. This is not a fault of this product. The fault is with every description of right angle prisms that I found on the Internet. The product did not meet my expectations but my expectations were incorrect. And I learned something.
