This is a great camera for my 2 year old son even though the box says 3+. Most of the features are too advanced for him, but he has learned how to take pictures and videos and replay them back. Even that requires my constant help and supervision, but it is still fun. He loves to replay the videos over and over again.
There are too many buttons for little kids, but a slightly older kid would be able to handle it better. My son accidentally hits other buttons while he's trying to take a picture and it changes the setting or turns the camera off. I've seen simpler cameras out there, but I still like this one better because of all the features. Kids will grow into it.
It takes videos. It comes with built-in simple video games. It has cool editing details. The lens turns backwards so you can take a picture of yourself. It zooms in and out.
So if you have a little one, don't expect him to pick it up right away. You will have to do most of it for him. But it is still a cool toy and the kids will love it! Oh, and buy a USB cable if you don't have one already. This doesn't come with one.

My daughter bought this with her allowance when she was five. She's had it for several months now and she loves it. She figured out the buttons and menus within minutes of opening the package. The camera has several games and screens with decorations for the pictures you take. The lens swivels so that she can take selfies, which she does a lot. It did not come with a memory card, so the number of pictures it could hold (before we got her a memory card) was fairly limited.

I bought this camera for my 3 and a half year old and was really disappointed with the picture quality. He had been using my old Canon digital camera and it is MUCH easier to use than this one. One nice feature is the that you can flip the lens around for self portraits. Other than that I wish I had saved the money and just continue to let him use my camera.
