I was surprised by how little it was. Plan Toys recommends this toy for 3 year olds but it would be much too small for that size of a tot. It is a good size for my 15 month old now and she loves it but we had hoped we purchased something that she could have for awhile and grow into.

The smaller tom tom does not make much of a drum noise. The larger one makes a good bass sound and the cymbal sounds good too.

Our daughter got this from Santa for Christmas and absolutely LOVES it. It was very easy assembly, seems to be fairly durable and she's already spent HOURS playing with it. The drums have a surprisingly rich sound for a child's toy. The only issue we've had is the wooden rod holding the high-hat is easy to knock off and it comes loose if she carries the set around too much.(It's also very easy to put back on though)

I wondered if this was a bit pricey for what it looked like in the picture, but I'm not at all disappointed. Was worth the $ and she's already got our money's worth of play out of it.
