I got these for my 20month old toddler for easter, and he's not very interested in them yet. I wanted them because they each show a different emotion, and kids can be confused by their emotions, so this is away of bringing up the subject. Also, it was easter. The eggs are solid wood, and nice quality. They come with little rubbery rings so you can stand each egg up in one. These get lost really easily, and I wish there was an egg carton instead. I actually cut an egg carton down for this purpose. Hopefully someday he'll be interested.

The storybook that came with the eggs is bizarre though. It's like they were trying to cram as many extreme emotions in as possible ,and didn't want to pay for the extra pages that would allow for some ttransition between them. There isn't much of a story even.

UPDATE: Now that they are in a carton, he loves them. He enjoys putting them in and taking them out. The rubber ring stands that came with them are now primarily used to make squeaky noises on the hardwood floor. At least they're good for something!

I bought this toy after reading about the "terrible twos" that everyone talks about. The main reason for the toddler's frustration is because at that age they cannot describe with words the emotions that they are feeling. My daughter is 18 months and she hasn't had any breakdowns but I wanted to equip her with the words for emotions that everyone (especially girls) feel.

We love this game! I take a sad egg, for example, and say the egg is sad and then I make a sad face myself. Some faces make my daughter laugh, some she takes seriously. Sometimes I ask her to find a certain egg expression. Other times she enjoys just taking the eggs and balancing them on their holders (great motor skill development tool). We don't use the book much, though; maybe we'll get to it in a few months.

Overall these eggspressions are a great value and I am very happy with my purchase! :)

Our preschoolers love this! They select it over and over again. They use the book accompanying it to create stories and different scenarios.

How has this toy NOT been reviewed yet?

OMG My 18 month old adores it! Very open ended play. The rubber bits are a tad small for her so I put those away for now!

Great way to teach feelings, colors, action/reaction, sequence, and more!

It comes with a book to read along with to make it more of a game and to get parents involved!
