I just obtained this item. I'll start with the bad...I give this four stars out of five for two reasons: excessively high price and some questions about how long this will last. There are 100 foam pieces, and no extras provided in case one gets lost. How long until one does get lost? Also, the thin strip of magnet is glued onto the back of the foam, and I have my doubts about how long the glue will hold.
Other than that, it's a great manipulative. The possible glue problem notwithstanding, it does seem to be pretty sturdy. (For $30, it ought to be!) The great thing about this tool is that it lets kids visualize and play with all sorts of mathematical facts. It acts as a 100-long number line, and stepping down or up is the same as adding or subtracting 10. The instructions/suggestions for games on the enclosed sheet is short but useful.

I ordered this for my 7 year old daughter to help her with her math skills. She took to it right away and enjoys working with the numbers. The product is very well made and the number magnets are durable and of a good thickness. One side of the board has all the numbers 1-100 on a ten by ten grid and the other side had the same grid, but without the numbers. You can write on it with a dry erase marker or use the magnets. This board is great for home or classroom use. I would definitely recommend it.Best Deals for Educational Insights Magnetic 100 Board and Tiles
We use LOTS of Montessori materials in our homeschool, but the problem with our all-wooden 100 board was that the slightest little bump would move all the pieces. This magnetic version isn't made from the preferable "all-natural" materials, but it's functionality more than makes up for it. Love it.Honest reviews on Educational Insights Magnetic 100 Board and Tiles
My child started out putting the magnetic tiles on the number side of the board. After a few weeks, he is now able to put them on the unnumbered side.
It's also a wonderful way to teach counting by 2s and 5s and 10s. Nice little teaching item!
