My daughter loves the Scottish accents and dialect words. I thought the story tried too hard to fit in each part of the movie, leaving it a disjointed poor abbreviation. The games are at a much lower level than the language and reading level of the book, especially the comprehension questions. The kids will lap it up if they like the movie characters, but educationally it's not the best in the series. They could have done more to help readers understand the historical and cultural context of the story and the dialect.

My kids love Merida and the book has many colorful pictures and games. We love the tag pen and this works with the new tag pen as well

My 3 1/2 year old son likes it, my 6 year old daughter thinks its scary. I don't think it has enough educational benefits but it keeps my son entertained so I can get things done around the house like taking a shower :) and he isn't exposed to "screen time"

Our son and daughter-in-law wanted books in this series for our three year old granddaughter. She loves the wand and though she is on the young side of the recommended age group they are very happy with the books.
