Of the 4 "My First Leap Pad" books we have, this is the most fun (and we haven't even seen the movie). My 3 year old daughter loves all the fun sounds of the items in the kitchen and the music is captivating for her and we like it too. As far as being educational, it's on par with the other leap books but the underlying story is what makes this one extra charming.

This was the first book and cartridge we bought to accompany our children's Little Touch Leap Pad. It was a great choice! My Kindergartner loves it, even our 3 year old is learning. There are simple instructions to follow along as your youngster learns numbers, colors, food groups, even how different items in the kitchen work. The unit itself is compact and has a convenient carry handle to make this a cinch to take along in the car. Our kids enjoy every one of the activities, which is not usually the case with electronic toys, and they especially love the page where they help dress Linguini from head to toe before he dashes off to work. The voices are the same as the characters in the movie, and the art work is colorful and fun. I am so happy with this set that I will purchase two more as holiday gifts for friend's children.

I have got a number of these books for my 2 and 3 yr olds. They have so much fun listening to the words and numbers and dancing to some of the tunes ( depending on which book you get). They are recognising some of the words in the library books they get too which i am sure is down to the help from leap frog books.Money well spent.
Honest reviews on My First LeapPad Educational Book: Ratatouille
My daughter (2 1/2) LOVES this book. I bought her this one, Dora and the princess book. She liked this one the best. She just sits and goes through the whole book, then turns it over and does it all over again. Really an outstanding book!

I'm sure the product works well on the UK version but it doesn't with the US version. The description of the product did not mention that this was a MyFirst LeapPad UK product. When we put the cartridge into our US-based LeapPad it said, "This is not a LeapPad product." Of course we knew this to be incorrect, so we started thoroughly examining the product packaging to see if it was a fake/counterfeit. It wasn't --it's just not compatible with the US system. So we wasted money.
