Got this item for an outdoor education program for kids grades 2nd 9th.

This was a hit with the younger kids they loved to hold and look at the encased insects without actually having to touch the real thing.

The older kids didn't seem as excited with this item, so I'd say it's a great item for up to 6th graders.

Durabilty: These acrylic encased insects are very durable and have held up perfectly after going through several classes of kids handling them and occasionally dropping them. My 2 year old son has also spent hours playing with these and was unable to damage them.

Quality: These aren't really display quality acrylic encased insects. There are lots of bubbles and a few of the insects look like they were already discolored or damaged before being encased. Over all a pretty good educational set.

Value: Purchased for just over $30, I believe that this is a fair value compared to other sets If I were going to set a value I'd say it would be worth closer to $20

I use these specimens a lot when working with children. They are sturdy-durable and easy for children to see and handle. I did need to take some time to look up the common name of each insect because only the scientific name is given, but it was worth it.

What a fun gift this was for my 2 yo to receive! Made well and endured some throws. He loves looking at all the insects and I know will use this as he grows to learn more. Perfect for our Montessori at Home learning environment.

an interesting set of bugs...it comes with a magnifier but the acrylic encasing each bug was scratched which made the magnifying glass not as useful...find a way to avoid the scratches and imperfections of the acrylic and you'll deliver a better product...
