Overall I think this is a great starter rock kit. The information cards that correspond with each sample are bright, colorful, and full of interesting facts. I loved how they each had real world examples of how the rocks are used in our everyday life. The only thing I would have liked to seen on the information cards would be what type of rock (sedimentary, igneous, or metamorphic) labeled a little more clearly. In a classroom this kit could be used for several hands on lessons about rocks such as introducing properties, Moh's scale or hardness, and relating back to our everyday world.

My daughter and I really enjoyed doing this together. She is 10 and loves science and history! We sat down and identified the rocks and minerals together.
