Once we got this, our bug hunting went into high gear. We've used this to hold a dozen butterflies, or 10 dragonflies, or 20 damselflies. Then, wait until dusk, reach in and gently pick up each insect one at a time, and maybe they'll sit on your finger for a while.
Great fun!

I put my canary in this while I am cleaning his cage. He has plenty of ventilation and feels safe and sure while in it. Durable.Best Deals for Port-A-Bug
I am a teacher and I wanted something compact yet efficient for our caterpillars turning into butterflies. This worked perfectly. The kids loved watching the butterflies emerge from their chrysalis and it is nice to have a storage case for when you are done. I can't wait to use it again next year. Please keep in mind that is was perfect for two butterflies. If you had more, it might be a little tight for the butterflies. The other first grade teachers used them as well and there weren't any casualties.Honest reviews on Port-A-Bug
This product is well made, but it's too small. I believe the dimensions are about 7" high and about 5" in diameter-and the latter may be a bit generous. I bought this to use in my first grade classroom. I have slender hands, but it's difficult to reach into the habitat and add/change food or clean it out with butterflies in there. The dimensions weren't listed, so I should have decided against it for that reason. Since the habitat is nylon, liquids leak through, but paper towels can remedy that problem. I am going to purchase one that has dimensions big enough for my hand and arm to get in and out easily enough.I would recommend this item for little ones who love to catch small amounts of insects to observe. It collapses and fits into a neat little case for winter storage.
