The blocks are definitely unique and not the same old boring alphabet blocks. However, I was really disappointed that there are not 26 blocks! There are only 16. Had I known this, I probably would have just purchased traditional blocks. Also, not the packaging, in contradiction to the item description, says ages 3 and up, although frankly, I don't see why a 6 month old can't play with them. I got them for my one year old daughter.

These are fantastic and a very good idea. Sturdy wooden blocks with cool retro art on each side of each square. You will like it if you like things like that.

These blocks are a fresh spin on the alphabet blocks many of us grew up with. They serve the same purpose--teaching children their letters--but like many things made for children these days (ala Pixar) Mom and Dad get a bang out of it, too.Honest reviews on XYZ Alphabet Blocks
Exactly what we expected; fun with a bit of old-timey-ness. Definitely glad we got them. You should definitely get them!Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for XYZ Alphabet Blocks
Great for parents with a sense of humor!Excellant twist on traditional blocks. Love! Our friends get such a kick out of these.
Well made, and fun. Especially love that they are wood, and even have their own traythis helps keep them contained & easier to notice if any may be missing (Not much worse than your foot finding a rogue block in the middle of the night. Other than a Lego)
But, Parents of Sensitive Nuggets Beware: My two year old, who is now developing an apprehension to all things "scawy" really dislikes a few of the pictures ( zombie, extraterrestrial, etc). And since each block has more than one letter, we can't just hide that one/sub it out.
So these are perfect for parents of oblivious babies that want to have kids toys they can enjoy, too. But once/if your kids get older & hit that sensitive stage, you may want to put them away for awhile. If your kids aren't bothered, kudos! Mine just currently has a distaste for the jeepers-creepers. Bummer!
