A nice variation on a classic. The book is well constructed and the graphics are great. The magic hat pictures create an animation as you flip the pages nice effect. Unlike the classic magic coloring book, this one does not create a 3 way illusion (black and white, color, blank) but just has text and images. The advantage is that it is not as clumsy as the original and it's clean design allows for use as a close up prop as well as parlor performance. About time this effect was given a facelift.

I purchased this book because of all the great reviews and what can I say, I love it. It is wonderful and my two year old loves the story and the pictures. Like a lot of people said larger the group of kids better it will work, I would agree with that. Great little book.
