I bought this Toddler Tote for my two year old daughter and she absolutely loves it. Now that she's gotten the hang of matching the shapes with the right hole, we have started organizing them by color and size. When my ten month old nephew comes to visit, he plays with the little foam pieces UNDER CLOSE SUPERVISION. I don't have to worry about him chewing on the pieces because I can just was them in hot water. My four year old son has played with it, but it didn't hold his interest for very long. I would recommend this toy for younger toddlers

My son received this toy for his second birthday, and admittedly, upon first glance I wasn't impressed. I thought, "What does this toy do? What can you make with it?" Boy, I sure was mistaken! My very active son sits for long periods of time playing with this toy, much to my surprise. The first time I saw him doing "imaginary play" was with this product. Something about the combination of shape sorting puzzles, foam pieces and the pegs can keep a kid occupied for quite a while. (I'd say "hours" but that really would be an exaggeration for a two-year-old... but maybe up to an hour?)As noted from other reviews, the "tote" is cardboard and flimsy. It didn't last but a week or so (maybe less), but I just use a gallon-sized freezer bag which holds all the pieces well. I would have rated down for the durability of the tote if I didn't love the contents of this toy so much. The foam is textured on one size and flat on the other I believe this adds to the appeal of the toy.
We now own other Laurie toys that are great, but this one is still played with often!
