I home school my son. I bought this so I could not only discuss the senses, but explain the parts of the ear and what each part does. It is a really good product! It is made of a foam and it is sturdy. I don't have to worry about it breaking in a move (we move a lot). I highly recommend this product as well as the one for they eye, the brain, the cell, and any other visual aid model that this company makes! If My son attended public school, I would probably gift a few to the class because it is that valuable a learning tool!

Quite disappointed and wished I had zoomed in and studied the picture in the ad. It is just a 1 dimensional sticker stuck on a slab of dense foam ! Could have done that myself with clipart. Not worth the high price for that.

We purchased this as an addition to our homeschooling curriculum. It's foam and very durable which means the granddaughter can handle it as much as she wants. Parts of the ear are written on one half of the ear, just as noted in the description. Even for adults it's a very interesting and educational tool. I would not call it a toy as there would be no reason to put it in a toy box, but as far as homeschoolers and other school children, this is a necessary item for health/science education as it goes further into detail than regular health school books do. Most classrooms don't have items like this, but they should!
