I think these are great flashcards they don't have the English at all on them, so your child isn't translating (and neither are you!) you just assign a word to the picture in your target language Spanish. The only flaws are 1)no pronunciation guide and 2)words on front and back, so you can't quiz yourself, or any child that can read, so you might pair them with a curriculum that includes a CD like Flip Flop Spanish.

Everything is in Spanish without translations and that is the real and best way to learn any language!
